LOL well Freon, im not that easy to get rid of. Also i never said anything about hollywood...now did i? the only thing i mentioned was about saving privite ryan, and THAT was just in reguards the the weapon names. But i'm talking about real live footage taped in nam. now im not saying anyone is stupid or dont know $hit, thats not my style. I'm sure theres newer weponary out there now that ever before. the grenades i was refering to were the older "pineapple" type. not the newer round type they have today. I'm new to the forums and i'm not trying piss anyone off, or anything to that nature.

The only thing i had really wanted was help. All i need is a little help in learning the scripting and commands. also if someone can tell me where i can get UnrealED 3, that would be a big help. All i can say, is if you PLEASE put a little trust in me, and give me a little support until i learn the basics to mapping and scripting, your help wont go to waste. I am not that type of "hurray for me, and the hell with you" person. Help me get started first with mapping, scripting is the hardest part of all programs, and that can come later. But common guys/ladies, Lets just work as a team.

You will have to use UnrealEd 2 It should have installed with UT then a short cut should have been created when you installed Infiltration. If for some reason it didn't someone will have to give you the command line so that Unrealed knows the correct ini file and such.

Once thats done I would look at some tutorials on general UT mapping. Try the wiki ut site. People here don't mind helping but they would like it if you have some general mapping knowledge before hand.

The current UT engine used for Infiltration is limited in that amount of interaction you can do. Yes there have been barrels exploding, one map had moving vehicals. Windows is easier to do but if I remember correctly there is a performance issue with having too many movers on a map which you would use to do these things.

just want to add a few things...

1.welcome

2. grenade traps were part of my training, but more or less just so we can recocnize them. you have to either replace the pin with something else or use the tincan thingy. considering the large area you'd have to cover with these traps in order to be effective is just to big, a mg an a few ready-to-throw grenades do a much better job. so they are just about useless unless used within buildings. sad thing is the tincan trick won't work and you usually don't have anything to replace the pin. to get to the point: it isn't done.

3. unrealed3 is nothing more but a bit more buggy unrealed2 with support for a few feature that came with ne new version of the engine (read: terrain, physic volumes). have a drop by at the development forums, you'll get all the help you need.

main reason is you have to share this forums with people who dont agree with your views and while IRL it would turn in a fight or ignoring here you have to talk with ppl you dont like :rolleyes:

If you're refering to the "Idiots at Sentry Studios" thread, I knew you weren't talking about us (since you explained it in the post just above me IIRC) but it was too damn tempting ;)

Anyway, I think Wolfe's reply to Tiffy was just fucking stupid (yet incredibly funny), and I'm not sure you should defend him like that. Being a newbie doesn't excuse everything :hmm:

nonetheless i think you guys should go easy on him. ok, ok, he might have underestimated the inf forumers when it comes to experience with these things, but what he suggested wasn't unrealistic. he didn't come here and screamed "omg, omg, i want a crosshair!!!!!111one". he requested a realistic military tactic that is actually used in gorillia warfare, and trained at least in german military. and his reply to tiffy was just to awesome to give him a bad credit ;)

So you're saying idiocy and ignorance like that should be let go? I think not, sir. He's just told probably the single most experienced person on the forums that he needs to watch some movies or he doesn't know what he's talking about. You want to let somebody like that off?

I don't think Tiffy was being nice. I think he was flatout awestruck. I would be. Hell, I still am. Lets take a moment and reflect here. There's "hurrrrr I saw a movie and they wrapped string on a gernade and it blew up the dinks lol" and then on the other hand there's experience as not just a soldier, but as an armorer. I mean, I'm amazed the idiot even tried to keep going after SaraP pointed out where Tiffy's come from. No. Don't let retards like that get off without even a slap on the wrist. You do that, and they'll never learn. Unleash the hounds of hell.

I can only add to this thread that the first page is so funny, I added it to my favorites. :)
Helping newcomers (in this case a noob I guess) is a good thing but if they don't let people hlep them, if they think playing this game for a few hours makes them "rulers" and pros they should not be handled as "nice players". So in short the answers were exactly what he deserved imo, or maybe there should have been more answers ...

I am only interested are you also making such nades where you set the trip as loop so that he (and the rest of the platoon or whatever is moving with him) can not escape the blast? Because if I remember it correclty they are doing it in Austria that way.
