When I thought about it a bit more I realized that it's not really within his rights to endanger his helpless child. Despite his extended experience with the animals, they are still unpredictable, extremely fast, and enormously powerful.
Why take the chance?

it seems stupid because it's what the media like to do, make celebritys look dumb. when in fact, it's no different to having a baby in the room when you feed the dog. the baby is just as much at risk i think

I say nevermind the media coverage. If a normal, everyday guy would take his baby and dangle him/her over a live crocodile it would still be as wrong as what this dumbass did. He unnecessarely put his child's life at risk and there's no excuse for that.Fearless said:What if this Steve Irwin guy was giving food to the croc with his right arm and holding his child in his left arm and to the side ? The chances of the child coming to harm are slim in this case and Steve is the one that's risking getting a chunk taken out of him.
I think these journalists simply want to make him look bad. Don't forget that these people seek any possible story and blow it out of proportion just to make a living.
If a normal everyday guy couldn't program in C if his life depended on it, should we hold our children back from programming?novak said:I say nevermind the media coverage.
