['04] Can't find the mutators

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Where are the mutators/mods (LAD,BlastArena,Ragdoll,Deployable,WeaponLord) I just downloaded? :/

There surely are, let's say, RagdollMutilation.u,int,ini,txt in the C:\Games\UT2004\System directory, but RagdollMutilation is not listed anywhere. However FHInvasion works correctly...

Here's an excerpt from UT2004.log, seems as though loading of the mutators goes alright but no other mutators are listed there yet they can be used...

EDIT: I tried and copied LAD.int to LAD.ucl, then it pops up in that progress list. Hmm....

In the original version (unpatched), .int files got automatically converted to .ucl files which would make the mutators show up in-game. The latest patch doesn't do this however, so newly-installed mutators won't show up. I'll upload versions of the files with ucl definitions in them and let you know when they mirror!

Once again, blame Epic. :p

They did fix a lot of things Mod Support, but it astounds me why they make decisions such as these. Mod support is still bugged though, I've found tons of problems. I can't give the specific answer, so I can't email it to the mods mailing list, it seems. Oh well, I'll just have to let another mod team stumble across the problems and have to work around them. :hmm:

I managed (with some of my ultimate h4x0r skills ;) ) to make a forged RagdollMutilation.ucl file, the contents go like this (on a single line, s'il vous plait):

OK, I'd only need the BlastArena.ucl file -- everything else is under control, y'know, I broke my UT2004 once (and fixed it, phew) and now the only UCL missing is the BlastArena mutator. Please?

I am, uh ... also having ... this problem.

Unfortunately I'm not leet enough to fix it myself. I tried making a .ucl for Weaponlord (as well as the lightsuit and deployablefun) but all it did was make UT scream at me. So I gave up on it. >.>

So, um ... whenever you get those updated archives uploaded to the mirrors, um ... that'd be good. Because, y'know ... then I could play.

FHI is neat.

Here you are! The UCLs, ZIPped for Deployable, LAD, Ragdoll and WeaponLord. The mutators and their GUIs work alright on my UT2004. The names/descriptions are probably somewhat wrong, but who cares?

Yah, I'm working on learning how to make my own weapon mutator now. ^.^ Got inspired by Weaponlord, I guess.

I'd say uScript is confusing, but that would mean I had figured out where to edit it... -.-;

I just downloaded that "ucl-fix" file. It fixed up WeaponLord, which is good. I even managed to make a BlastArena.ucl file, and it appeared in the Mutators list too.

But there are still a few problems:
- The Blast Arena gametype still does not appear in the gametype list.
- The Blast Arena Rocket Launcher, the Fraghouse Invasion weapons (yichus cannon, flare launcher etc.) and the WeaponLord weapons do not appear in the "Arena" or "Worm 2K4 Arena Plus" mutator lists.

Is there a fix to this?

EDIT:

Okay. I managed to do the following things:
- Get Blast Arena into the mutators list
- Get the FragHouse Invasion weapons into the mutators list, also in Work2k4's list
- Get the Volva and Riot Shotgun (from Weaponlord) into the mutators list and Work2k4's list

What I still can't do is:
- Get the Gloober, Flux Rifle, Radial Cannon, Plasma Cannon, Napalm Slinger, Firebolt and Martyr (WeaponLord) into the mutators list.*
- Get Blast Arena onto the gametypes list.

If anyone can help me do those things, I'd appreciate it.

* From here-on, "mutators list" will mean all mutator lists (normal one, arena and worm2k4).

But ... the Volva Rifle isn't actually from Weaponlord. It's from FHI. And the Riot Shotgun is also in FHI. So maybe you just somehow got some of the FHI weapons in there?

That's probably true.

Like I said, I need to get the other Weaponlord weapons in the mutator lists, and get Blast Arena onto the gametype list. I haven't been able to figure it out yet though. Can you, or anyone, help?

Well where is akx these days? Maybe he can help solve our problems. Because I can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling everytime a mut or mod doesn't work with a post-patched UT2004.

As if the remaining WL weapons and Blast Arena not appearing, now I have a mod called AirStrike (not by FragHouse) not appearing.

Geez...hope a patch that does restore int-to-ucl conversion is made soon!!! :)
