A bug led to the accidental release of the All Fronts downloadable content pack late last night. Since then the bug has been fixed, and no longer shows up for download. Many users were able to take advantage of the bug and download the content. Epic has asked such users to not post any video or pictures. The content is still planned for release on the 28th.

You can read the thread in Epic's Official Forum for more info.

I'd settle for an accidental release of the UT3 Linux client ;)

That aside, can't really fault Epic/Microsoft for an accidental DLC release. Not going to complain that a company has accidentally let people buy and play content of theirs...the customer isn't really losing anything there. Every time I try to find a match in GoW2 and it takes five minutes, well, that's another story. That, though, has gotten better, so the only actual complaint I can think of these days in regards to Epic+Microsoft is how much the DLC costs (ie. too much per map for me, but maybe I've just been spoiled by PCs and map editors).

The cost is pretty much due to MS's rules/regulations regarding DRM-contaminated content.

One also has to wonder what part of the incident really was a 'bug' in the system:
= the cost (800 vs the planned 1600)
= the early release ...

Those with early access should consider themselves lucky that MS did not stop them ...
then again they might 'fix' that bit once it is quiet.

otoh ... without this bug no one might have paid attention to GoW's DLC.

I look forward to the day when all publicity stunts are called "bugs".
