It sounds like you are confusing religious morality to plain morality, I.E the law and such. I'm an atheist (I guess) but that doesn't mean I don't believe in the neccesity of manmade law. You don't need to be a religious person to have fine upstanding morals and believe in a universal law to regulate citizens and keep things peaceful.

In fact the track record for socities that function on religious moral laws have been far more barbaric than say, the modern idea of government with seperation of religion and politics. It's all there in history.

Speaking for myself and my roommate, I'd have to say RF, your statement regarding "no consequences for rape, murder, theft..." and such is REALLY offensive. Maybe more wrong than anything else said in this thread from either side.

My point is,
IS if you all don't believe in a higher being (God) you don't believe in an afterlife of doom and gloom and or complete serinety(heaven and hell).

So believing that your the say all end all and thats it,is like thinking there will be no consequences for not believeing in God.

Atheists are more concerned about their actual life as opposed to what happens afterwords. Shouldn't they be more likely to make laws to make sure there are consequences here now in life, than those who are only worried about going to heaven?

Just really really think how rediculas that sounds.and the reason all these non believers are testing ,trying there faith,is because they know they are NOT the awsome creator they think they are and there is a God of whom trumps your attidudes,but because they see nothing other than being anti god ,it shows they are insecure with this life,and know there is a more powerfull,smarter,bigger badder being than your poorly soul.

because it increases mutation, which means more adaptation. more adaptation = more survival.

furthermore, there are animals that don't use sex to procreate. snails and such are asexual. if sexual reproduction is an awesome gift of god like you say, why wouldn't he give it to all his creations? god is being cruel to snails if he doesn't.

Well the mutating can only be after many generations,and the way this eveolution logic is,hell they go back what 80 trillion years well even longer hehe.,not very convincing,to me,even in this day of science we have.

And you know whats also very unconvicing,today in the news they found a mastadon skelatin in someons back yard then they said it was from 400,000 to 1.8 million years old.

Like wow man that really narrows it down,and there trying to speel eveolution? blegh.

because its old (4.5 billion years, not 80 trillion), you don't believe it? great, toss your bible then. because skeletons weather time much better than spoken word and books.

Oh I thought they did that allready,nontheless,I will allways think evolution is far more unbelievable than being created.
And believe me I am a science freak since forever,I did tons of things with chemestry and electronics,and other areas,and science is my fav.
But evolution is just rediculas,plus if things took that long to evolve,think how fast and far and things we make and do,computers,metals,etc etc,hell the first transitor was what like 1930's

So if it took us 4.5 billion years to evolve,why did it take only 100 years to invent all the latest stuff we have.

I dunno aint never gonna convince me.

there was a popluation explosion. in 1800 there were 0.5 billion people, now there are nearly 7 billion as far as i know. 14x as many people + industrial age = lots of technological improvements. plus the basis for much of the past 100 years was built long before that. you underestimate the importance of developments in things like iron which happened (more than 6,000) thousands of years ago.

I fail to see how evolution is so "rediculous" when we:

1. Know it is true in smaller timeline cases
2. Alot of the ideas involved it in are also true.
3. We can see why the unproved theories actually would make alot of sense.
4. Evolution when it isn't arguing origin or creation, does have alot of documented facts that show it actually happens.

The way I see it, with all it's flaws science can still answer most of my questions about nature. I've seen enough to let me know that wherever we came from, science is the path that's gonna come closest to answering the big question.

The scientists are boycotting a thing on teaching both,some convention someware.to be taught or creationizm brought up in public schools.

But personly I learned of eveolution at my elementarty Chriistian,school,darwin etc etc,but the Anti Civil Liberties Union"ACLU has a hissy fit if they say we were created,so go figure,the religious school taught both.
now the scientists are acting like babies,God created them too.LoL
