That's a bummer. I wonder what the team is going to do about Gundam.

Real shame for the kid though. Dropped out of high school to join this team, then to quit because of this. I hope he gets picked up by another team.... possibly one without a molesting manager.

Version 1.1 is uploaded to the Battle.Net North American server!
(Changed the width of the 3rd Expansion's ramp)

Hello everybody! I'm proud to announce that my second Melee map for Star Craft 2 has been released, and is currently uploaded on the North American Battle.net server!

The map name is Tarnosis Isle.

The playable map size is 140x164

This is a fast paced 1v1 map, with an easy natural to capture and defend. Two Xel' Naga towers show the players the middle of the map, but not the Gold Expands that are there as well.

And as everybody loves..... Pictures!

Tarnosis? Isn't it supposed to be Tarsonis ;)?

Looks good though. I never got a chance to play your other map, couldn't really find anybody to play with. Have you seen it played by other people yet?

Well the team disbanded completely, even the Warcraft III part, from what I could see. I guess they might press charges against Gundam, although he's not done very much.

Aside from myself and my little bro, I've heard of two other people who played my other map, Canal Pit. It wasn't the best map. Horrible Natural placement now that I look back upon it.

Because the Natural Expand wasn't actually connected to the main base, so for Zerg to spawn creep between the natural and the main, it took a lot more than the standard 2 or 3 tumors. Aside from that, you had to defend two entrances (3 if you count the backdoor rock 3-way).

Double post time!

So last night.../this morning, my little brother and I had thought up an awesome rush strat as Terran. Turns out, horrible idea.

We tried to rush them with Planetary Fortress'. We tried it against some bots, and got spanked.

To our defense, it was 6 am, neither of us had slept, and we were laughing hystaricly from playing Quake Live, so during a smoke break, I thought of that strat, and thought it was the funniest thing ever.

We were relying on income sending, but didn't notice that you have to be 5 minutes into the match before you can start doing that.

I was in a stalemate once after a PF rush. Game ended up being 7 hours long. Eventually he left and I got into gold :D

I deleted the replay a while back, since I couldn't get it to play. I think it was because it was back from beta actually, though I'm not sure. I'm sure I got an error message telling me it couldn't be played though.

I ****ing sat back and laughed after this game. It was so sad that I actually managed to pull it off. With the help of my team mate of course.

I found this pretty interesting. Basically a guy made a program to test and eliminate build orders in a survival of the fittest kind of way.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/11/02/genetic-algorithms-find-build-order-from-hell/

(4) …and yet while the strategy neglects to buy an overlord to begin with, it later produces two at once, far overshooting the population cap the strategy requires but allowing it to squeeze those 2 extra roaches into the rush. It’s all counter-intuitive, but the result is inarguable. Louis says that “This is the type of non-obvious optimization that genetic algorithms excel at.”

Video in the link.

I agree with most in the comments, this is why the game isn't good. Like Kantham once put it, building the same card castle over and over again. So lame.

The game would be radically different without the teching phase. Seriously, early pressure (not cheese) is extremely important.

To draw a parallel to shooters, what you're saying is:
All that gathering weapons, health, ammo and powerups is so lame. Also, all the moving around the map sucks. Let's just get right to the shooting part.

I will not disagree that SC and SC2 put pretty intense focus on build orders, more so than CoH, DoW, SupCom, etc. I will disagree at the notion that this makes it a bad game.

I'm seriously dumbfounded by this. My map that I made to play with my friends just showed up on the popular list. I have no ****ing clue how it happened (I didn't promote or even release it on any forums) it just showed up in the list. I was annoyed with the current 1m ling challenge because it lagged and broke itself most of the time. So I wrote an optimized script for it and made a custom map.

I'm speechless. Go play it if you are interested.
