2K announces today that those who purchase Borderlands Game of the Year on October 12th will receive a membership certificate to the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club, which grants you early access to the Duke Nukem Forever demo at some point in the future. The press release also notes that Duke Nukem Forever is due to be released "in calendar 2011", so the game is coming out next year. I have to hold my tongue from making a joke about this...

[Borderlands GOTY] will come complete with the entire extravasplosive Borderlands catalog and a free membership certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever® First Access Club. This certificate entitles owners who register their unique key to a wealth of goodies, including early access to a sneak peek of the legendary, long-awaited video game - Duke Nukem Forever.

Entry into this exclusive club will provide fans with the earliest possible admittance to the Duke Nukem Forever playable demo and more. When the demo releases prior to the retail launch of the game, this select group of First Access Club members will be the first to play it and experience the life of the King of All Shooters. Hail to the King, baby!

Full press release in the comments.

A shame they don't do this for anyone who's bought Borderlands in the past :(

Yeah, I'm pretty sure buying Borderlands twice (on DVD when it came out, and in the recent Steam sale for the DLC) is quite enough Borderlands for me...

np: Oval - Glossy (O (Disc 1))

I never bought the game :)

Yeah, that contest was silly, you probably had the best costume from what I recall (next to the Claptrap guy) and everyone who entered were getting a copy, simply because they were giving away 50 copies and there were less entries.

Man was it like a year ago? Feels there's more than that to it.

I saw that last night when I noticed Steam had downloaded a 14 mb update for BL that wasn't the anticipated 1.5 patch. However, I don't know where that 14 mb went. I assume it's the PDF version of the map they're putting in the GOTY but I couldn't find anything new when I started poking around the game folder.
