Eat3D is offering what looks to be a wealth of video tutorials from seasoned industry professionals for everything from Unreal Kismet and Facial Rigging to Next-Gen Texturing and Unreal Materials.

Each video runs from 2.5 to 4 hours in length and have short samples for viewing to see if they are right for you. If you don't need a physical copy, then you can purchase a download for a discounted price.

I am surprised this is only coming to beyondunreal's attention now. It's been around a while. Believe it was even mentioned in the forums a couple of times.

I can recommend them and the quality is good.

Looks like they got it in the bag, however, the 2 first video of wall materials is really far from what I'd call impressive, the offset method is entirely nonsense; it doesn't look real, and it's odd.

I liked the fake room-in-window illusion though, seen that made in Gears before.

I didn't want to be harsh with my previous comment, but it's just that I'm actually making a UT3 Map Pack for the Community to introduce a deep and FREE level design formation for any modders, new comers and other Game Dev that aren't really familiar with Level Design or do have to do some by default [each Game Company does work differently :( ] but aren't comfortable with.

I do think that Knowledge is priceless to share...

It's going to include Videos, Images and mass of examples to clearly explain how it works, because I do think that we have many many many tutorials on the how the Tools work, but not that much of info on how to Level Design properly.

Anyway... I'll probably buy that DVD on Kismet

I dont think you or any of the other guys are harsh because I realize price is something that no one will agree on. I did give a pretty detailed response in this post HERE.

Its very rare to find a professional who works in the game industry (which alot of times means working 80+ hours a week without paid overtime) and will go home and make a full production DVD for free. It took Rusty Months of working nights and weekends to get something he was proud of and ready to share with the community.

Its the same principle when you go and get your burger from jack in the box, you could simply stay home and eat rice because its so cheap, but some people prefer to spend some extra dollars on some taste. And if Dennys wants to give away free breakfast one day, then wonderful, however I dont think anyone will spend the time and effort to create what gnomon, digital tutors, or eat3d has to offer for free.

The best part about all this is some of the money goes back into the system you guys use everyday, which means advertising on this site, and many others that you enjoy using for free everyday. Someone has to pay the server bills and staff if there is one.

Thanks to you Hyrage and all the others who have purchased a video to support us. I know with a steep price it can be tempting to just find it on a torrent or something, but to those who have supported us over the last year, I cant thank you enough. It has given me an opportunity at my dream, which is being able to work on eat3d full time.

And thx to you guys for the work.
I didn't buy the DVD yet, 'cause I hate credit cards... and now I'll probably get one just for those Kismet Tutorials.

I definitely agree, but some of us do because when you take a break to think about what it means to do that... new technologies, new features, more specializations, deeper products, etc... It would take us many lives to master all that by ourselves, so when I realize that it took me weeks to understand something that someone would just have to take 35 seconds to explain it, than hell I feel like we are all wasting our time by acting like Egocentrics... keeping all the knowledge for ourselves. That's why I'll try as hard as I can to share my experiences for Free.

We, the community will grow way faster and because you all grow faster I'll also do and it's just how many others and I think. ''Competition'' [whatever the subject is] is born from that.

But I must also say that Eat3D made those DVDs more than 40$, for a few hours, but we can't really say argue about the price... or at least I can't, because I have no idea of how it just cost you the sell them and how hard it could have been to realize that simple project of selling the whole thing.

So from me... you got a ''THUMBS UP MANNN!''.
So I can't wait to watch it lol...

Thanks Hyrage.

Also to note, we started offering free videos for the community (with the option of purchasing if one wanted to). Ill do my best to get a lot of these types of videos out, I have alot of ideas on what to do.
