  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hmm, what's needed to make a video game... let me think.
Oh yes, the will to do research on your own helps. And low expectations certainly wouldn't hurt either.

Thing is, with today's game engines, you cannot expect to create an entire game on your own with zero experience. I recommend you learn programming or or how to create content first by creating maps or small mods for an existing game first. Tutorials for that are everywhere, just Search The F...riendly Web.

i would start by following a step by step tutorial,
like this http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JQ7KE33W
its an offline version of the architectonic webpage that sadly is not online anymore. it will learn you everything a noob needs to learn.
also if you find the original ut2004 somewhere it includes a personal learning edition of the 3d application Maya wich is used to make the more complex stuff.

Not sure that I agree with this as a first step. UDK is free (as in beer); but it is aimed at pros, not beginners. I think Wormbo's advice is better suited for reaper911.

umm yeah i tried installing UDK but i can't run it, it crashes everytime i run it and it won't oopen cause of that

your rig meets the min specs?

if you can run UT3 easily with a bit of room to spare then you'll be ok

The last two monthly releases of the UDK have had crashing problems with some video cards. It's not necessarily a matter of meeting the minimum specs.

It is still the same month - the newest version is the one that he would have been testing with.

I personally have tried re-downloading, re-installing, even reformatting the computer and reinstalling everything. The problem remains consistent. It's most likely a bug in the UDK. If you wait long enough and keep trying the new releases each month, it will probably be fixed eventually.

Until then (and maybe even then) I would mod UT3 instead, if you have it.
