I'm just messing around with the destructible part. Alas, it hits the framerates too hard :(
As you destroy the blocks, the fps does go up but a map that starts at 20fps is unacceptable :/ Then again, 500 blocks per house does add up on the computational front when applying physics.

I don't wanna lock the cars to the circuit, I think it might be a bit boring :p
VJB has never really worked so I want to try to make one that does work.

Except for lego's house (which looks as a bonus in your map) there is two things I not understand:
- why cars are so slow? (it could be more fun with boost, no?)
- what happens when cars try to spend on a weapon locker?

Actually, the spacelego physics thing was ok, I just ran out of inspiration and didn't like where it was heading:/

I'm still tweaking the cars' performance. I've also noticed the engine sounds don't seem to be working and there's some odd collisions going on which I need to fix.

Oh i see what you mean. These vehicles are quite a bit lower than the normal.
It's other stuff I need to look at :)

So, I was doing a little playtesting of the map last night and noticed that my little crafty hack of getting the vehicles lights to work has, alas, broken pretty much everything else.

No vehicle sounds, no exhaust emitters :(
However, this morning I've managed to rewrite the scripts for those parts and gotten them working again.

Now, bare in mind, the amount of knowledge I possess about UScript could be fitted on the back of a postage stamp (and still leave space for a good recipe for pizza), I'm feeling quite pleased with myself :)

Still lots to do so......

By the way, could some kind passing mod change this thread title to TrackRacer?

The map looks far more interesting! :tup: If possible, I'd try to make the main floor a little less flat so you can't see from one side of the map to the other.

I think you should also remove the fencing from the ramps... I hate that personally: it stops dodges and makes everything you shoot to the low floor explode in your face... :p A trim that doesn't stick out of the ramp's geometry should be fine, just like it's done in most of HOLP maps... ;)

Gimmie a beta if you want some placement ideas... :)

I totally agree with the comment about the high trim. I've not removed it, but I've made it a lot lower now. If I remove it, I think the levels will look too flat.

Please note, the studs on top have no collision. They're just for effect.
