Hehe..j/k with ya. I know what you mean (and I'm sure I'm a culprit in some instances too.) I do TRY to help when I notice there are newbies on a server. And if my team is mopping up and I'm one of the people doing the mopping, I'll try to switch sides.
I think I'm less of a culprit in this though, because I have found a group of servers who's player level is consitantly greater than mine. I think that's important. Not finding a server with better people, but a server who's general atmosphere suits your needs as a player. Add it to your favorites. Play on it regularly. If that one time was a fluke, remove it and find some more. But building a list of good servers is part of the deal. There will always be people who just randomly click on servers, or click on the server that's pinging best for them at any one time. But I think player level and attitude on a server is more important than ping (easy for me to say, being on cable I guess
. Sure, even the good servers will have those hardcore players show up that will sweep the map. But chances are, those people are just passing through on their way to another server. Often, when I'm needing work on a specific map, I'll hunt that map down. Sometimes it's a server full of "newbies", sometimes I feel like a newbie. (I just realized I'm using the term newbie here, when what I mean is less skilled player..please find/replace all instances of newbie with the phrase "player of less skill". Thank you
. So yes, I might "ruin" the enjoyment of the game for one map or so, but if I do an overrun there, chances are it won't be added to my favorites, and you can be sure I won't be back on purpose.
BTW, Jim: This post is more of a commentary and wasn't in any way directed at you. Bah...I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying.
