I'm with Geogob, Almost and Yurch, couldn't have put it better.

Never had any issues regarding "camping" but then again, I don't play TDM. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind beeing accused of camping either...I just don't give a damn....

I guess I'm a romantic that wants to see TDM enhanced by the faithful followers of such a great game. Even if that means drawing a distinguishable line between ambushes, sniping and camping :D

Maybe I'm crazy - I think with some group effort even TDM could be a great team experience.

TDM is a lost battle. It is a death match, plain and simple ego booster. Play EAS or DTAS and be done with camping crap.

TDM is not even a gametype. It's nothing. There is no point in it (no realistic one that is

much like your posts

Also, TDM is the most realistic INF gametype, ppl are sent on to kill other ppl w/o actualy knowing the exact reason of dowing so...

They are sent to kill the other people. TDM fails at that too, because it often rewards for not doing so. See: last man timer abuses.

Have you EVER played EAS or DTAS?
EDIT: Talking to the people who think TDM is the best.
Play them for a while and see what you think.

Go EAS and DTAS!

Ok. so that would make TDM about the same level as the worst UT gametype. nice.
think about that for a sec...

Personaly I've been playing TDM on LAN for four years now, and none of us ever get disatisfied.

We set 32 minutes per round, 8 reinforcements and no last player timer, everyone is aware that winning is achieved by eliminating the oposition and by staying alive... So we practice a very cautious playstyle, and because of the 32 minutes per round, none is tempted to rush unless one wants to spend the three remaining quarters of gametime spectating.

However it's definitely uncorrect to compare TDM with LMS, the point of hidding in LMS is when you're facing more than one oponent, in INF TDM there's only two teams, so that's like there's only one oponent and because victory relies on the elimination of the oposition, there aren't 36 ways to do it, you've got to engage the enemy cuz unlike LMS, no one will do it for you.

32 minutes is pure pain in the ass in public gameplay, since people tend to come and go all the time.

Once outnumbered, you gonna try to reach a "draw" for that round, by forever hiding in the darkest corner - which makes many maps "unplayable" with mentioned settings - unless you are a bunch of friends who agree on more than can be forced by serversettings.

Sometimes people don't camp in TDM but spent 3 minutes circling the map trying to find each other like a dog chasing it's tail! Silly game mode! Fox is pretty much the same, but fixes that camping problem! DTAS also fixes the camping problem! Both are inherently just TDM modes, but with that objective, it changes the gameplay to an acceptable level.
