Have you tried enhanced rendering? I think it's supposed to let you choose any resolution your videocard is capable of. Here is the link and those 2 threads (1, 2) may provide some additional info about setting them up.

Hey thank you for replying, I'm using the latest version of opengl. I've tried switching to different renderers but its all the same with 1280x1024 being the max. I just bought a new 23' monitor today and replaced it with my old 19'(1280x1024 was it's max). Maybe I should try to just reinstall ut fresh

Try typing setres 1920x1080x32 in the console.

If that don't work, try setres 1920x1080 instead.

I tried both, but unfortunately nothing happens =\. The setres works with anything that I can see resolution wise but nothing past 1280x1024.

edit* LOL, I just played the ut demo and it supports my resolution! No idea why regular ut doesn't

Start with basics such as deleting your UnrealTournament.ini's and let the game create new one for you. Then use updated D3D9/OGL renderer and configure your graphical settigs as described on sticky thread.

Wow I really have no idea what else to try, I just did a fresh install and still the same problem. I deleted the ut.ini to be sure, all my other games work perfectly fine, even the ut demo.
edit* I followed the graphical setting tutorial I did everything, but it's not working. I figured If I edited the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] and changed it to my correct resolution it would fix the problem but no :( anyone have anymore suggestions? I'm clueless

If all else fails, you can try playing ut in windowed mode. It should be possible to play in a resolution full screen, though, as long as it corresponds with one of the available resolutions in Windows.

Might have to do that then :\. I lost my original ut disc and I just downloaded ut online and used the no delta patch, I don't know if this has something to do with it?

I use a "copy" of UT that I've had floating around for years w/ the nodelta patch and I've been able to change my resolution to 1920x1200.

I'm not exactly sure what render I used to get it to do that, I believe it was TNsE's D3D render that I used. Not sure if that's the reason or not.

Hmmm, I just tried TNsE's D3D. Maybe my directx9 is messed up, I'm going to try to reinstall it and see if that might work

In windows it lets me use my max resolution and In every other game it does like cs:s WoW. I'm using 436, I'll try 451 out, I reinstalled my directx9 c, same thing. I really appreciated everyone helping.

Sorry for the mistake, it's about the direct 3D for UT :( you got a driver that works perhaps with direct X 6 like any UT game, but there is a Direct 3d 8 and perhaps 9 for the game.
its a couple of DLLs I post them for you

I think you need to make a couple of additions in your UT INI but there is a post about that here

Thanks, I tried that but still =(. It's okay though, I think something is just wrong with my comp and ut. Sometimes when I close it, it doesn't properly close I have to task manager close ut.exe. Thanks for everyone for help, I should be getting a new computer within a month or so, that should solve it! lol

The maximum resolution isn't important. It's the resolution you want that needs to be supported.
