Tbh. I never thought the music in RE was special to the point of owning a RE ost. the only Track I can actually recall from a RE game is the Moonshine Sonata as composed by Beethoven.

Interesting. Though to align him as being contemporaneous to Beethoven seems a bit of a stretch. Though the hearing issue (now in question I guess) did draw a parallel of sorts, I hardly would classify the music composed by Takashi Niigaki for him to be upon a similar level of brilliance to that of Beethoven.

Somewhat unbelievable it went unnoticed that whole period. I wonder who's the original composer then, if we ever gonna find that out.
RE2 had imo some of the most memorable tracks in whole series, love especially those.

I've never played the RE games so I've never had the chance to listen to the sound tracks but finding out that after all this time and fame, a celebrated composer isn't the actual composer of said sound tracks is surprising. Though some of the comments were even more entertaining than finding out he's a fraud:
