What's frustrating about this thread is that I, too, am frustrated with Obama in such instances. He has reversed his position on matters of transparency and executive privilege a number of times, making him and his predecessor very similar in a number of areas that frustrate me. It isn't the problem of a politician going back on their word (because, let's be honest, the realities of life make EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING a hypocrite numerous times throughout their life--especially when it comes to such massive roles of balancing unwieldy lofty ideals with massive responsibilities) that bothers me so much, but rather a continued lack of progress in this country for more openness that only a candidate like Obama could have brought, which now isn't happening as I had so sincerely hoped it would.
But then we get idiots like Hermiskii who treat such disappointments as if 1) a politician changing their stance is a big deal in any way 2) Such positions, taken by essentially every president, in some way or another, are somehow the point in which the constitution has been shredded and crapped upon. 3) proof that the person that they disagree with on a small number of issues is actually some incarnation of the antichrist who is literally destroying our nation.
