Also, do try to get in touch with gigabyte. Just because the motherboard is out of print doesn't mean they won't help you with it. motherboard companies are good like that, at least the ones I've dealt with are.

i tried the new patch but it wont install properly - its says something like 'Unreal cant be patched because it was not the version expected', or something like that.

Thanx for all the tips u gave anyhows LittleZen - they were much appreciated. I'll maybe drop Gigabyte a line to see what the deal is.
