After I installed the new patch, I get a very annoying in the graphics and the main menu.. Some of the textures are screwed also once in a while..

Is this what they do now, call a beta patch "Official"..

thanks if anyone has any solutions besides going back to the 4.13..

thanks much

I have noticed graphical anomalies as well.
I have a Creative Labs Annihilator pro using the Detonators v5.22.

But if I turn off Volumetric lighting the problem goes away...but I LIKE volumetric lighting!

Here is what kind of system I have:
Intel 440BX Motherboard
Intel Celeron 333A @ 416MHz
128MB PC100
Geforce256 DDR with Detonators 5.22

I get any were from 30fps - 100fps…I depends on what's going on.

also here is the WinDrv and D3D sections of my Unreal Tournament INI file:

WOW, those settings on a Celery 416!!! Must be hell! Even with my Athlon 700 / 256MB / Geforce DDR those settings wouldn't be playable! (Or is it that I'm picky about speed???)

BTW does anyone know what UseVideoMemoryVB=True
does?????

JSG, thanks much..It was the lighting..
Buit i also noticed if you turn antialiasing completley off in you GForce tab, It completely fixes the problem..
This patch was made for 3DFX users, not NVidia..
Well, all of those settings you have are exactly them same as mine but I have "UseDirectInput" to false..
Is that sound? Not sure what it does, turned it on once and didn't see any differance.

Salmoneu, use videomemory Video Buffer..It's good for you..=)

With my settings I never drop below 30fps...

and to the DirectInput Question...
DirectInput is the part of DirectX that gives direct access to your input devices such as your mouse and keyboard. If you don't enable it UT will have to use standard Windows input messages which are slower than DirectInput... can even sometimes cause a 500ms delay in some cases...

Damn.

Whenever I enable AGPtextures it halves my frame rate. I noticed a 3fps drop going from v413 (with the 405b d3ddrv.dll) to v420.
I'm running on a GeForce DDR with v5.22 dets on a 800MHz P3 with 256mb Ram.
At 1024x768@32bit I'm getting an average of 59.84fps (34fps min, 119fps max) on the timedemo. Sidebanding, Fastwrites and AGP4X are all on.

Guys if we're going to post fram rates lets do it from the timedemo.
I.e. Start up UT.
Press Esc (to stop the intro)
Bring up the console (the ' key on mine)
Type in timedemo 1
Type in open cityintro
Close the console.
Press Esc (to start it running).
Let it cycle through a few times then bring up the console and record your results. I have a feeling people are just playing a game with the timedemo on and then saying "Oh I run at....". This makes it a bit damn hard to compare results. (I'm a bit skeptical of dr_dropouts results, I'm guessing the 100fps as when he was facing a wall).
Volumetric lighting still gives me a 5-10fps drop when enabled.
3DMark2000 gave me 5313marks at 1024x768. Only thing faster than that on an equivilent processor is the GeForce GTS. With the same graphics card it oWnz the equivilent speed athlon.

Come on people lets have some decent results.

PSYCHO!!!
Your an idiot!!!
Read before you accuse..

JSG was the one talking about 100 FPS..
Damn you must feel dumb..

Whatever..?

I found another tweak for GForce DDR and The Nvidia drivers..
Get Coolbits..
Go into the Nvidia/GForce tab to the D3D tab..
Select the disable VSynce and set 5 for render frames..
I Increased about 10-15 FPS..Pure Stability..Even online..

Looks great too.Try it

Don't you mean "you're". How about you learn how to spell and use correct grammar you muppet, or did you "dropout" before you got an education? What does your village do for an idiot when you're posting on these boards? No need to throw insults about over a typo. BTW you can get away with setting the number of frames to render ahead to 7. Anything higher than that and you'll start to get tearing.

/me takes some of his happy pills

All he was asking was for people to run a standard fps test before we go comparing results so we can actually see what is going to be the best combination of drivers/tweaks. He obviously meant jsg2021,not the obviously extremely sexually frustrated that you appear to be from the attitude of your post. Just calm down and everyone will get along nicely.

PMB loves talking about himself in the third person

BTW what do you get in the timedemo?

Alright Pshyco, here is your request...
My Config's and cityintro run 5 times in a row with a solid 35.11 FPS..
Yet I seemed to have flashing on the textures at the beginning and end of the demo..
The Mechanical arm was flashing crazy along with the 2 models that appeared?
You know what that is about?

My System:
CLAPro (5.22 detenators)
256 pc100 sram
13.5 quantum fireball
FBS 100
p2450
mx300 (aureal drivers..newest)
cdr
dvd
3.5 floppy
bus cool card cooler
350w P/S
(that's it)

My Window figs:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1024
WindowedViewportY=768
WindowedColorBits=32
FullscreenViewportX=1024
FullscreenViewportY=768

MinDesiredFrameRate=35.000000
Decals=True
NoDynamicLights=False
UseDirectInput=False
ParticleDensity=0
NoFractalAnim=False
SkinDetail=Low
TextureDetail=High

My D3D settings:

[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]

Yes..I do take back what I said..
I knew he just mixed up the names..?

I am a dropout of DigiPen Institute of Technology, just because they were teaching me stuff I already knew..

Explains the dP, their logo..

I hope these benchmarks help people..?

No worries :)

The only time I got the flashing texture thingy was when I upgraded to v413. It disappeared when I down reved the d3ddrv.dll to 405, though I'm now running v420. I remember reading somewhere that setting the UseVideoMemoryVB to false can sometimes stop this. Whats your AGP arpeture (spelling :))size set to. Mines at 256. Turn off curved surfaces, it gives a few extra fps and is not noticable (it only applies to the player models, not the rest of the map). You should be able to set skin detail to medium without any performance hit (enough ram on card). Change the min desired framerate to 0 (this also speeds up the game for some unexplicable reason, well the timedemo anyway).
What options have you got ticked under D3D settings. All I've got ticked is Adjust z buffer to rendering depth if unequal, else it don't run in 32bit.

I've also got the majority of my settings as per Christopher Hills GeforceFaq (at http://www.tweak3d.net/faq ). Cache size (in ini file) is at 64mb (quarter of my total ram size).

I'll have another look when I get home (at work at the moment).
