ok, since bellatlantic tech support is about as useful as an ice pick between my eyes..
here is what i have tried to fix the problem with my dsl timing out repeatedly..
1) different phone jacks
2) rewiring my own phone jack and replacing it
3) reformatting and reinstalling windows to see if perhaps it was a software problem
4) updating the stupid pppoe software to see if it was a buggy program
5) cracking open the box outside the house (the one that the telephone pole is directly wired to), unplugging the main line's phone jack that connected it to the rest of the house's wiring, and plugging the dsl directly into there for a clean line
6) got a new modem
nothing has worked.
the ONLY thing i haven't tried on my end just yet is replacing the NIC. i'm pretty much broke.. i have about 30 bucks to spend on a new card.
i currently have a dlink dfe-530tx+
what other cards are relatively inexpensive (in the $30 price range) that are worth a try?
