  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Well, MY process of making a map has looked like this:

My first map:
**********
1. Have a stupid idea. (Build a small room to check if I can create a stormy atmosphere)

2. Expand this idea, add in a big lava pit into the middle of the room, add in loads of monsters.

3. Build two flag bases.

4. Release the map to Nali City

5. Lock out my parents for two weeks (holiday) and re-work the look and some technics.

6. Nix the monsters

7. Release it again.

Overall creation process: About a month.

My second map:
*************
1. Have a weird idea

2. Fix it up, add a bit of trim, tweak a little, release it.

All in all, that one took me about 3 days.

There's been no more maps since then, but I've got about three dozen drafts... just take a look at my "projects" page, I don't bother cleaning that anymore :)

My map making process is as follows:

1. Come up with a brilliant idea for some particular thing.

2. Attempt to start making an entire map based on this idea.

3. Somewhere along the way, I realize I need a plan. . .

4. Attempt to make a plan, ends up being far to complex.

5. Continue mapping randomly.

6. Get tired of current map, Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Thats why I never finsish my maps. . .

That technique sounds kind of familiar! ...
