INF Single-player?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

As it stands now, INF is based mostly around online play. Any offline play is basically just a botmatch with a bunch of particular settings; any continuity between matches remains in the player's imagination.

Has anyone thought of writing a single player mod for INF, one that may include a storyline, or linear elements, or maybe even unlockables?

Maybe just a series of EAS games that tie in together that are connected via location schedule? Maybe an 'attackers' campain and a 'defenders' campain? Just mix together about 10-15 maps that have similar locations/objectives. Just change the objectives to tie into a story.

Problems with this would be 1) Capture the CD missions would get booring, as no-one would believe that to complete a campain, you have to steal 10+cds and 2) how would monitoring your progress go?

Single players missions would have been really interesting, and playing those missions in Coop would have been even more interesting.
But the amount of work to create proper SP/COOP mission in INF must be a bit too huge for a non-retail project.
