plus, if you download it over steam, you can only play it with an existing, and active connection to steam, so you can't install it on your laptop and play wireless, and if your connection goes down for whatever reason, you're don't get to play.

Thats BS, valve made Half Life and they get to do whatever the hell they want with it, the publisher merely copys the game and ships it around the world for a price. Thats all publishers should have been. They dont need all these rights to games, they merely need a licnecse to publish the game, so feck off, Vivendi.Freon said:

Well **** that, im getting HL2 of steam now no matter what.tool said:Vivendi has always wanted control of games the second they go popular. That is why Dynamix was shut down shortly after Tribes 2 was released. Vivendi (at the time sierra studios) saw that they could make a lot of money off of completely owning the rights to the series, so they killed off the company that made it and took all the credit and money made from Tribes 2.
Thats my point, to not give vivendi any money for there ****ty buisness practices. They are the SCO of the gaming world.PsychoMoggieBagpuss said:Thats the main point, with Steam the money goes to Valve and Valve only, if you buy from the shops the majority of it goes to Vivendi
