The weapons are pretty cool... I'm not sure if it's been done before, but basically they fall into two classes - Federation weapons and Alien weapons. Each class has an ammo type, all weapons of that class use the same ammo; so when you run out of ammo for the RL you can't use the sniper any more either :) Plus you have the basic Phaser which automatically recharges itself, but is fairly useless. Each weapon has two fire modes with varying ammo usage:damage ratios per shot. The main difference between similar weapons is their ammo:damage ratio. All weapons can zoom!

Phaser Rifle (Federation) - primary: single shot, high ROF
secondary: low ROF, high ammo usage, single hit kill (sniper)

Scavenger Rifle (Alien) - primary: rapid fire
secondary: arcing "grenade" high damage but no concussion and very little splash damage (?)

Statis Weapon (Alien) - primary: multifire
secondary: lots of multifire. Kinda like 1942 or one of those old-school shoot-em-up type multifire upgrades :)

I-Mod (Federation) - similar to the basic rifle, but works on the Borg. High ammo usage

Some other gun with a scifi name (Alien) - primary: big rapid-fire
secondary: even bigger rapid fire

Grenade launcher (Federation) - Primary: very similar to the Q3A launcher IMHO
secondary: magnetic rounds stick to target :)

Rocket launcher (Federation) - actually it's called something else and shoots energy balls but you get the idea :)

Arc Welder (Alien) - similar to secondary pulse rifle, high damage. Not sure what the secondary fire does, probably the same but more so.

There's a good looking CTF map called "Boarding Party" or something which is actually two ships linked only by the transporters. Excellent theme, reasonably well executed, but it's no Hydro Bases. It's the basic CTF game-type, but it just seems... weak, I dunno, maybe this is why no-one plays Q3A CTF :) The bots are really, really dumb. They don't seem to respond to orders properly... maybe there will be a patch (actually they're pretty dumb in single-player too... they have no concept of "line of fire" :) )
