Classic inf shotgun

One of my favorite games is UT99 and my favorite weapon mod is the old infiltration weaponsmod that instead of total-conversion, it added itself as another "Gametype". So anyway I've been wondering for a long time:

Whats the tradeoff for putting the Benelli shotgun in semi mode? The pump and semi modes seem so similar, except that semi fires a lot faster so there must be a tradeoff?

I'm hoping someone here even remembers

There is no difference whatsoever, it's just personal preference.

EDIT: Oops, thought you meant the latest incarnation of Inf. I'm not certain about 275 and earlier.

2.75 had 50% more damage in pump mode, if I recall. I think one of the older 2.8x versions retained it.
