this is bull****. they just told this week to have dyanmix leave. they are taking over tribes and starsiege.

they wont give a reason for why they are closing down dyanmic, but its obvious why. they are doing it so they can make all the money off of tribes and starsiege.

I bet they will do it to valve when half-life 2 is near being complete.

all they said to the 96 employees at dyanmix is to leave, come back next wendesday and get your stuff. they probably wont even be able to get a job at sierra or any help getting one.

sierra=greedy bastards who just want to take all the money from great games. they cant make good games themselfs so they rely on the success of people who actually care about the games industry.

First Looking Glass. Now Dynamix. It's truly unfortunate, but not surprising. Sierra forced them to release Tribes 2 early because the project was taking too long. After that they fired almost all of Dynamix's staff. Leaving just enough to patch the game.

RIP Dynamix.

Same here. That had to be one of the weirdest decisions in gaming history. One of the all-time best selling PC games ported to the DC, then canned after the gold master had been pressed. I reckon they hosed it because Sega had already announced that they would stop making Dreamcasts after March 2001, so Sierra didn't want to be seen on a "sinking ship". Truly disgusting.

Valve may get the boot, be it after HL2, TF2 or whenever. In the corporate gaming world, nobody is safe and anyone could lose their job tomorrow, no matter how good or talented they are or how much they're being paid. It's all about the bottom line these days, which is truly sad.

It's no rumor. At noon yesterday, they entered Dynamix offices and told everyone to leave, then locked the doors.

I seriously doubt they would fire Valve. It's a huge cash-cow for them.

it is hal, but sierra doesnt get all the money from valve. dyanmic was a big cash cow for them to. and by closing down valve there just get more money for half-life and any other future games valve releases.

the reason they would not kick valve, is that valve IS pumping out HL games, and also keeps sierra's good name.

yuck. i always liked dynamix. i can't believe they just dumped such an old, well established company. so i guess this means no more incredible machine games either.

no one likes sierra, and sierra helped that along this week with what they did.


They do some of the lamest things ever to get money. If there is one company I would love to see go under because of piracy it would be sierra, but none of there software are even worth it, its all ****. They rely on others like valve, which is why they are now a publishing company.

and another game they canned also was babylon 5. they also canned navy seals which promised to be a vert realistic game swat type game like rainbow six that would be way better.

I cant even think of all the other numerous good games they canned, its been to many.
