Mocker of Mod N Mod has reviewed Florent "JackOneill" Guillaume of the Atlantis team about their UT2004 mod.
Q: An interesting thing to note about Atlantis is that the two sides have very different technology and are of different species. So what will you be doing to make the differences between the sides even bigger?
A: Yes, this antagonism between the two races is the core of the concept behind Atlantis. The alpha we released was meant to give people a first and basic taste of this aspect. We will go on increasing the differences between Humans and Atlanteans in the future. I cannot tell you yet exactly what particular features we will have, but the two races will be differentiated by two main axis. On the one hand their weaponry will become even more "unique" and will lead on two quite different gameplays. On the other hand we will expand the physic differences (ex : jumping higher, swiming longer, etc..). A third axis would be vehicles, if we decide to include some. All those differences will also be better exploited, and will have a greater impact on the level design of our maps.
