I personally think that a new Bonus pack would rock and so does some of our fellow BuF'ers so i thought i'd start this thread to see what the interest would be like. Feel free to suggest any maps etc and opinions you might have and if you could help put it together then lets do it! :)

Existing Maps would probably be best. A contest would end up taking 2 months, which is too long considering the current popluarity of UT.:(

The pack should consist of maps that are not too graphic intensive, so UTers with low-end systems can still enjoy the pack without fear of crawling frame rates.

The pack can be an equal mix of small and large maps. All maps used should have good to excellent bot play, to accomodate those with crap internet connections. Also, the maps should be as bug-free as possible.

I'd say the best of both. Use some of the great maps that are out there and maybe throw in a bit of a mapping contest to drum up a bit more interest. The best thing about having a BuF bonus pack would be that we all get a say in it. Just hope a few more ppl reply to this thread and help us get it underway.
And yeah a mapping contest would take a while but if we put a short time limit on it for entries then it shouldn't take too long.

I'd be down for a BuF bonus pack:) Given the people we have in editing right now we have people who can make simple weapon mutators, new weapons, textures, models and ofcourse maps:)
It'd take a lot of coordination an work tho.

I think we should use a pack of stuff made by BuF'ers. There's prolly some pretty dang good mappers that hang out in our editing forum (not that I've ever been there ;).)

Good idea! But definitely more existing maps. Try to get people that will be finished with their present in-construction maps soon or people that can make a good map quick submit maps for the contest portion. I believe a 3 week deadline isn't too short of a time limit.

Some of our best mappers in editing are the ones who take the longest. I don't think 3 weeks will cut it if we do this. As for using external existing maps...naw that'd take the fun out of it:)

Well, I thought the idea was to get this pack out ASAP and not let it drag on. Does 4 weeks sound like a better deadline? In the meantime, people start working on maps before the clock starts ticking.

It all depends on the final goals. I would love to see a BuF oriented pack... with BuF content. Doing that might take a little longer but the final results would be more satisfying...

We have to do this.
I say we take existing maps that aren't getting there due out on the pubs.
Maybe someone could even modify one or two (with the Authors permission, of course) maps and put BuF in graffiti on a wall or 2 here and there. I'm sure the author's would be flattered.

I cast one vote for...

DM-AZWAHTEMH
CTF-FinalFace
AS-Bridge

Surprisingly as much as I DOM, I don't have any user made maps.

The goshen skin is good but he needs a RED head.
I saw an awesome female skin I'd like to vote for, but I can't remember where I saw it. I'll look around.
Found it. It's the Asia Carrera one. Probably not "different" enough though huh?

Hey Peregrine, I know where you got that skin ;).

.......it's Sasha's, right?

Anywho; I don't think we should do external maps but try to get solely ones done by BuFer's.......so I think that would rule out AS-Bridge at least from the ones on your list (I'm not familiar with the others).
