I have a celeron 500 with 156 megs of ram with a viper 770 tnt2. To solve your crashes turn on your color settings to 16 bit and not 32. I can play for days straight with no problem in 16 bit but when i switch to 32 it locks up after a few min. I assume it is due to the ammout of heat generated.
