Desktop skins thread

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. yes sid.visual styles which come in .msstyles format dont require a 3rd party programm.
just doubleclick on it and change the skin.



if you got xp home edition you need a patch to update it.unzip the attached patch,run it and reboot once and your ready.all the skins we posted are msstyles exept the first.

usually your skins/themes go to your windows-resources folder.but you can put it anywhere and double click it to run.

I downloaded one of these ".msstyles" and double clicked on them, the theme dialogue opened but there was nothing new to choose. Where am I go wrong?

ok.try once with the patch which i attached.
then go like this:

1.
double click on a .msstyle.

2.
message window appears.click there on appearence.
after that its done.normally.

note: clicking on .themes file dont work.most skins come also with that format as a plus.dunno why doesnt work.i am also new to this stuff.

Ok heres what I did


but nothing happens, see. The theme remains the same :(


I tried patching too but it said the versions dont match.

EDIT:

Hey, I got it working. I downloaded a "hacked" uxtheme.dll and replaced it with the original using a software called the replacer. Thanks for all the help man, really appreciate it :tup:
