Man this really sucks. Roy Scheider was one of my favorite actors in the business who didn't get the kind of respect he deserved at the end of his career.

Like Richard Dreyfuss said in an AP article about him, he was a "knockaround actor." ...

"A 'knockaround actor' to me is a compliment that means a professional that lives the life of a professional actor and doesn't' yell and scream at the fates and does his job and does it as well as he can," he said.

He'll definitely be missed.

You're gonna need a bigger boat

best line uttered in Jaws and one of my favorite movies of all time.. R.I.P Roy :(

EDIT: Saw this quote and I just have to say that is somewhat wrong
But Universal Studios, furious with Scheider for pulling out, strongarmed him into appearing in the critically derided Jaws II. He was the only one of the original stars to reprise his role

Lorraine Gray, the mayor, and Brody's assistant both came back to reprise their original roles
