ttr 1.3 ww2 realist mod for UT.

TTR 2k4 would have been better than RO gameplay wise i'm sure. RO is fun, but coming from an Infitration POV i somehow found TTR more 'next door' than RO.

Even in it's current state RO is too arcadish imo. The gamemode is lacking so much replay value too. They should make DTAS for RO and save those beautiful maps from endless one-way caps.

I wish all RO maps were like DOD. Every point is recappable. That way matches are more dynamic.

One guy on the German board just posted he purchased UT99 for 30 € at ebay because his old disk was a little too scratchy, so he could play INF again

How would that guy feel when he sees UT99 in the bargain box for 5 euros...

I gotta uphold buf rules, for the most part. Stuff like warez, which could get BuF shut down, I absolutely must enforce it. If we don't, we loose the forums.

No, it's hardcore stupid. Anyone smart would just download a copy of UT99. May not technically be fair use, but it's close enough not to matter, and about 7 years since release can make up the difference.

Part of the problem is, that UT is on the index for "youth jeopardizing media" in Germany - which is stricter than 18+ (the system is different now).

Sales on ebay are - in theory - completely illegal and the few that slip through obviously make a good price. (and shops don't sell it anymore)

Funny. I just warez unreal gold so I could play the maps in UT. now if only I can get INF weapons in there.....

The old system gave no legal meaning to age rating of computergames (it was just a reccomendation but still a 10 year old could buy something 'advised 18+' by the publisher). The only legal possibilty was putting games on the mentioned index which meant "adults only".

Also the censorship institution couldn't act at their own will, they had to wait for somebody to complain. (this way Quake 3 went on that index after a few weeks, similar UT was free for almost 3 years)

Since 2003 (change of law) those ratings are mendantory, binding and go along with checking age of costumers.

Stuff like MDK2 is 12+, BF2 is 16+, Max Payne is 18+. Re-rating of old games like UT would be possible but create costs for the publisher - so they won't.

And any sort of Porn is and always was 18+ along with prohibition of advertising and presentation...

Not perfect but not quite as silly as some things in the US, where adults have to hide beer cans in cover (so anybody can tell from 100m: OMG this guy is drinking 'ALCOHOL!'), bouncers keep asking 35+ people "Ok, you look older than my Grandpa but show me your id - otherwise you won't make it into my teeny club" or changing cloth at the beach will endanger you from beeing shot - to safe little girls from seeing your agr#&$%... I don't dare to type....

Hahaha personal experience? Also, why would I have to keep my alcohol hidden? I drink in public regularly. Tuesday night me and some friends went to go play pool, and I chugged half a paint of Jaeger right there in the parking lot.

Well, there is a difference between nudity and porn.

... and yeah entire europe is rather relaxed about nudity - mixed saunas, topless ladies on the beach, lakes etc. is common.

I dunno. Canada is so chill. We're so worried about our nifty health care and self destructing submarines nobody really cares about the hot coffee mod or violence in UT. Hell most parents I know from 30 to 50 are bigger game connaisseurs than I am. Especially since the Taxes collected from the UBI soft HQ in montreal are going to help pay for our Health Care MUAHAHAHAHA!
