Gaming interruptions, Take 2...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

T2A pointed out that I should have had more choices that I overlooked, so I'm redoing this. Fortunately nobody actually voted yet...

Does your significant other (boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife) interrupt your gaming sessions? Because it's already happening to me... but I don't mind.

My spouse gives me the evil eye if I play at daytime. My kids wants to "help daddy shoot the ugly guy" if I play at evenings. So yes, I do get interuptions but mostly I don't mind. I play mostly in the early mornings or late nights anyway. And at those hours the family is sleeping :)

My significant other is usually sitting right next to me on the other computer gaming with me.

Lucky som'bitch. She'll be sitting there doing homework (completing her Masters) and she wants me to stay up with her. Well i just can't sit there and stay awake and the tv bothers her and i hate to read. So i start to play UT and she goes off. "You're supposed to be paying attention to me! How come you always have to play that stupid game?" I'm like "Well you're supposed to be doing homework and I'm staying up with you, what does it matter how i do it?" Oh I could go on and on and on and on....Just pisses me off.

/me walks into the living room.

Wife: "Oh, hello stranger". Without the slightest trace of humour or sarcasm.

/me looks sheepish

Why is it that women expect us to be always paying attention to them and entertaining them, yet as soon as we expect some entertainment they have headaches?

No wonder we go play headshot games.

i'm pretty lucky i guess - hasn't happened to me yet.

i'm recently married (for the second time) and i've found that the key is to have a few "date nights" and a few "gaming nights" set aside in advance. The rules are set, and it all works out. This is why i am never on Wednesdays, and am always on Thursdays (the other days rotate). :)

Wait until if/when you have kids, and she tries using them against you.

"I'm glad to see that computer is more important to you than your own kids!"

BTW - if you want to REALLY make her mad, try this.....after being on the computer all night and pretty much ingoring her, try making a move to "get some" from her when you finally do go to bed. Bonus points if she's already asleep.
