Escape routes in JB 2K4

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. IndusRage2 also. I was hoping TrueBlood might have conquered that one by now - if you know what moves to make in the laser room, you should be able to do it every time. It's probably a bit hard really, as anyone who gets in there is going to panic with lasers flying everywhere, but then again, who wants an easy escape ;)

yea JB-Height do have one , it's very funny to shot at the escaping one from the side.

If i`m right.....
1: the left side opens randomly and inside that should be a button where someone stands as long as they can (because spider mines drop in !)
2: when the left side button is pressed, the right side should open warping you to escape shaft
3: escape shaft is full of them spider mines...run for the exit gauntlet style :eek:
dont forget to keep running...the spiders have a nasty habbit of getting out and following you ;)
so dont stand outside the escape typing "omg i got out" because you will die before you say it xD

Could someone have a test next time in indusrage jail, and just let me know if you can get in the escape hole? I'm not sure how many people it takes - I meant for it to only take one crouching person, but if that doesn't work, I'd consider releasing another version just to change that...

ok, heres whats broken

indusrage2 - jail camera broken, seems like you can't get through that hole, never seen anyone do it.


also, on the lifts in indusrage your bordering static meshes are messed up and make this wierd fuzz, i can get you a screenie if you wish.

oh yeah oversized shock combo :)

I`d prefer if you make the escape route on the ground floor so anyone can get in :)
(remember jb-gauntlet ... one of my old favs, the escape room was triggered by a button which only activates after 30second or more)
I dont expect to see a 'pile up' at the hole though...looks like most people dont pay attention in jail :rolleyes:

Yea, I'd prefer it if people got a bit more of a chance at the escape too - I'm just afraid that, because of the type of escape it is (always the same), the player could, in theory learn it and do it every time (though, it took me a few goes, and I was making the damn thing!) - so I'd at least like to include a shield-jump or one-teammate-ladder to get in. If you haven't seen it, it's like the "laser-room" from the first Resident Evil movie.

hehehe thats kinda the whole point

but if its a fancy footwork escape like that, it takes time to do well. (like heights, not impossible but it takes awhile to get up)

I also saw a small HOM, and some zones have the fog set off... :rolleyes:

Thanks guys.

Second one is Z-fighting from the overlapping meshes, first one looks like it actually may be the fog (occluding with no skybox fogring to disguise it), rather than a HOM. I'll just push the fog distance out, it's not in there for occlusion anyway, just atmosphere.
