Ok ok...this is a possibility.
Anyone that wants these "crosshairs" ... get them in the attachment here.
Now...from Dev and I checking things out...the second texture doesn't work. The one that works and the one I recommend anyway is the third one... ownz.3
Now to use this...take the ownz.utx out of the zip file and put it in your UT2004/Textures folder.
Then go to UT2004/System and open your user.ini
----- STOP ----- Backup your user.ini before reading the info below
The first thing you want to do is go to Edit >> Find and search for [XWeapons.SuperShockRifle]
If it finds it...add these lines underneath priority.
CustomCrosshair=12
CustomCrossHairColor=(B=0,G=255,R=0,A=255)
CustomCrossHairScale=0.7
CustomCrossHairTextureName=ownz.3
If it does not find it...you will have to add this whole section...
[XWeapons.SuperShockRifle]
bUseOldWeaponMesh=False
ExchangeFireModes=0
Priority=5
CustomCrosshair=12
CustomCrossHairColor=(B=0,G=255,R=0,A=255)
CustomCrossHairScale=0.7
CustomCrossHairTextureName=ownz.3
CrosshairScale can be adjusted to fit your liking...but Dev and I like it around there. Now go into instant action and turn on instagib mutator. When you go in you should have a much brighter green crosshair with a thin black border. If you still have the dim ugly crosshair you had before...exit the game, go back into user.ini and search for this...
[XInterface.HudBase]
If it finds it, make sure this line is underneath.
bUseCustomWeaponCrosshairs=True
If it doesnt find it, add these lines.
[XInterface.HudBase]
bHideWeaponName=False
CustomHUDColor=(B=0,G=0,R=0,A=0)
bUseCustomWeaponCrosshairs=True
This enables you to use custom crosshairs for all weapons.
>Lurk< That last bit I just put there is probably your problem...you probably don't have custom crosshairs enabled.
Hope this helps
