Ingame IRC and INF site applet problems - The fix.

Gamesnet recently became Gamesurge and this has caused some problems with the ingame IRC client and the applet on the main site. Basically, you'll have great problems connecting to the official IRC channel from form either one of them.

So, for all you frustrated people out there who would like to use the ingame IRC client, here's the fix : Go to your Unreal Tournament\System-folder. Locate the file called Infiltration.ini and open it in Wordpad or similar. Somewhere between the middle and the bottom of that huge text document you'll find a few lines that looks like this :

What you need to do is add the new IRC server, irc.gamesurge.net. It should look like this :

...but with your nicks, of course

And that's it! Next time you open the ingame IRC client you'll find the new server there and you'll be able to connect to the IRC channel. Yes, I know. 99,9 percent of the people here knows how to do this. This post is to help those who don't.

And of course, there's the IRC applet on the Infiltration main site. It's pretty messed up. Until our webmaster finds a way to fix this problem I guess the ingame client or an "independant" client is the way to go.

On behalf of the INF dev team I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this issue might have caused. Unfortunately, a change like this is beyond anyones control. All we can do is change with it
