So there I was getting a glass of cloudy water from the tap cause I was thursty see and as I was about to drink it I noticed that is was fizzing. Naturally I began to pour it out but as I did, I was reminded of that old philosophical question: Is the glass half empty or half full? Is it merely a matter of perception or is there an actual answer? I'm leaning towards there being a definitive answer based on the action that led to the water being in it's half measurement state.

My water fizzes, too, BTW. It's because water pressure here is so strong.
Anyway.
The glass is totally empty; I drank it all. :p

Here's one that'll bake your noodle: put an index card (a thick card or summat if you wish) on top of the glass, than turn it upside down.

NOW, is the glass half empty or half full? :D

well, there is actually 4 ways to look at it:
you can say it's half empty
you can say it's half full
you can just say it's half
or you can say it's full

It's all a matter of how you look at things, for the third one, some people simply think "half", not half full or half empty, just simply half.
But, in a way it's completely full: (#4) Half of the glass is filled with water, the other half is filled with air, it's filled with water AND air.

isnt it a subliminal way to see if someone is pessimistic or optimistic??

half full, looking to the future, optimistic

half empty, seeing whats lost, pessimistic

try it on people you know, and see if it works?
