I really, really agree with you, ben.

I don't think I have played an FPS featuring vehicles yet that I enjoyed. I'm having a hard time seeing what they could contirbute to a game like Inf. Maybe I'm just weird though.

Another trend I hate in recent FPS's is squad-based combat. When I'm playing offline, single-player, why the hell do I want to have to micromanage a bunch of AI retards. Alls I want is a solid, realistic representation of what it might be like to be in a close-quarters gun battle. I want to "feel" it when I pull the trigger and potentially take the life of an enemy, not try to coax some AI teammate to open a damn door.

Maybe if they just limit the vehicles to say, a single APC, or a couple jeeps. It'd make that heavy gun WAY more important, and a much bigger impact if it got nuked.

You know what real problem will be with having vehicles in game? I won't have room for both my steering wheel and my keyboard on the same desk :D
Seriously though, as much as I'd like to see INF do Operation Flashpoint size maps, I'd much rather them perfect movement and weapon handling on smaller maps.

The most important thing that vehicles can add to infiltration is all in the name: -INFILTRATION-

What am I getting at? Well right now the current method of infiltration into any INF combat zone is a teleporter (spawn point). There is absolutely ZERO infiltration or exfiltration. It's all *spawn, run shoot kill die, *spawn run shoot get cd, run to little red flare *win.

Now we will always have spawns, but they don't have to be in the combat zone. It would be a lot better to spawn in some far out of the way place. After spawning, you would use a helicopter, hummer, boat, or you'd parachute out of the plane to get into battle. THAT's infiltration.

After objectives were secured, vehicles would be used for exfiltration. Your team's score would be based on how many team members exfiltrated alive after completing the objecetives.

@Crowze:
Now I´m not sure about if the way SS want to have the game is to realize at all.

@Keihas:
And again I agree with you.
