Peter Jennings dies at 67
Aug. 7 — ABC News Anchor Peter Jennings died today at his home in New York City. He was 67. On April 5, Jennings announced he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

He is survived by his wife Kayce Freed, his two children, Elizabeth, 25, and Christopher, 23, and his sister Sarah Jennings.

It's strange having him gone. He was there for so long (five decades right?)

One of the best broadcasters ever. Sad day indeed.

Bummer man :( My family and I used to always sit down after dinner and watch ABC World News. Before cable and the internet, I guess Peter Jennings was the main guy I really got my news from. He's been there as long as I can remember. Haven't really watched him much in the past few years cuz of CNN and Fox news so didn't know he had cancer. That's too bad :(

Seriously. Peter Jennings was a really cool guy, just like all of the big three (Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw). They were the guys who changed the evening news for everyone and they fought off each other and the changing world of news. RIP.

That is sad that he died, especially the way he died. Cancer is horrible. It is no wonder that ABC world news (the news show he anchored for) never talked about it. It sounds like his condition was pretty bad. I always wondered if they would give updates on how he was doing.
