You sir are an America-hating/Nazi/socialist/fascist/terrorist-loving/communist/San-Francisco-values/Bible-hating/elitist/heathen!

That's pretty funny, considering that's everything Faux News has called the Democratic Party. Ayup, they're biased mudslinging goofballs. Most naysayers can't even spell bias, let alone do any mathematics or perform higher level thought above Maslow's physiological hierarchy of needs.

It's funny how if you put all of those together, they cancel each other out. Especially the nazi/commie combo. Nazis can't be communist, they're Nationalist, and Nationalism is nearly the polar opposite of Communism.

WOO! Bigots.

PS. This is larkin bait.

Everything is getting old otherwise they would be getting younger which would be weird.

In conclusion: political threads are not good.

yea, yea... larkin bait...

but hey, please explain how communism and nationalism are mutually exclusive...

Uh, specifically Nationalist Socialism (Not a socialist system, but a Fascist one, AKA Nazism) is against all things Democratic, Liberal, Capitalist, Marxist, Trade Unionist, and Industrialist.

Karl Marx is the guy who founded the idea of communism, hence Marxism.

Therefore, Nazis hate communism. One can't be a Nazi and be a democrat, or a liberal, or a capitalist, or a marxist, or an industrialist. Five of those things mentioned in the above paragraph: Democratic, Liberal, Capitalist, Marxist, Trade Unionist, and Industrialist, (excluding marxism) is fundamentally American. A republic is a quasi-democratic system in which elected officials speak for the people (or in theory). Nationalist Socialism is a dictatorship.

So, the blatant accusations (generated by Fox News and Glenn Beck *satan's mentally challenged younger brother*) of calling Obama, Biden, or any representatives of the Democratic party, a Nazi, are fundamentally flawed.

Can you dig up any actual clips of either Fox News or Glenn Beck seriously calling Obama or Biden a nazi? I mean... that seems pretty sensationalistic, so I guess I'm calling bull**** until I see it with my own eyes.

well, as you now mention, facism is a bit different.

I think you, as many others, have missed the point of what beck and others have said. Compared them in some senses to Nazism, sure, but the right generally makes the marxist comparison. What they both have in common is collectivism and authoritarianism. Yea, and I know that's not 100% accurate in "pure" marxism...

You should look up Cloward and Piven and then compare what's going on with out economy, welfare and unions. Hell, even our unions fly the "Worker of the world unite" slogan. I'm sure you know where that comes from, right?

Glenn Beck doesn't call anyone a Nazi outright.
but his message is clear.

I only got half the way through that Msnbc video, but what Glen was talking about when he compared Gore to Hitler was not a direct comparison, but a comparison of tactics. Hitler used the Jews as his way to an end, he demonized them, made them out to be the cause of all evil. Gore is using global warming as a to an end, he is using global warming to demonize everything that he wants to take action on. Its not a great comparison, and it clearly has a bigger goal in him using it, but it is a solid truth. It should also be said he doesn't pretend that gore or the democrats are the only one where that comparison works either. I'm not saying I agree with its use nor am trying to defend Glenn, just clearing things up a bit. Not that care if its ok or not..

edit:

The rest of the video seems to be the same over and over again.

and they didn't come to the banks to give them 700 billion. That guy is clearly blind

I think it's better to ignore when people are acting like Hitler because we all know that problems don't happen if we just ignore them.

but here's the problem:
there are plenty of other ways that Beck could have made such a comparison. Al Gore and Hitler are not the only 2 people in history who used aggressive tactics to achieve their goals. it's completely ridiculous to compare almost anything to Hitler; it's very irresponsible hyperbole. and it's wrong, no matter what the topic.

by using Hitler and/or Nazi Germany as his only example, over and over again, Beck is trying to impress upon his audience an implicit connection between the subject and this horrifically tragic period in human history. Beck knows that if he repeats the message often enough, regardless of how ludicrous it is, then eventually people will still make the connection on their own.

it's simple propaganda.
so despite the fact that Glenn seems to hate the Nazi's, he at least adopted one valuable lesson from them....

wasn't Hitler was quite the heavy-handed environmentalist? just sayin...

No, but he was a health nut.

In fact, I do recall pulling up in World History some anti-smoking propaganda. Something along the lines like: Your body is Germany, don't hurt Germany. Don't smoke!

Third Reich health propaganda. Somehow they throw in the ultra-nationalist ideals.

I also hope you know that Thomas Jefferson was excluded from your Texas-produced American History textbooks just recently, simply because his words and ideals conflict with your state government's ideals. Sounds almost totalitarian to me, especially when nobody stood up to its absurdity. I'll pull up the exact source too.

If you don't read the whole thing and just read the title, then you're bound to make a terrible argument and not have a point to counter mine. Try and tell me that's not an ass backwards ideal presented, especially since it is the reversal of progress, a blockage of intellect.

You pretty much answered your own question there, namely this one:

but hey, please explain how communism and nationalism are mutually exclusive...

Commies don't really belive in nations, as indeed is reflected by slogans such as "Workers of the world unite", they put no importance on where you where born, nor what gender or colour you are, they only care if you are a commie or not, this is why they just referred to eachother as "Comrades" rather than sir or madam or anything else, a commie is a commie no matter the specifics, and that is a fundamental principle of Communism, solidarity across borders.

Thus it is incompatible with Nationalism, as Nationalism very much cares about nationality! that pretty much beeing the whole point of Nationalism..

And it most definately is incompattible with Nazism, where not only Nationality is of grave importance, but also gender and race, you know, the whole "master race" BS.

He constantly repeats that message? As far as I know, he's only talked about a it a few times. He mostly talks about 60's radicals, like Saul Alinsky, Cloward/Piven, Ayers and the rest of Obama's buddies... but in the spirit of propaganda...

Actually he was (at least for a while) a enviro-nazi (pun intended).

Old news... I find it odd that conservatives would ban Jefferson considering how much any real conservative should embrace his ideologies and policies. I don't really know their complete angle, but either they're lame or don't understand (like most) that separation of church and state doesn't mean that religion must be stripped of all things government. It just means there's no official religion of the state. We still make our elected officials take an oath, usually with a bible. Go figure...

But again, Jefferson should be fully embraced by any real conservative... and, his contributions to the constitution (not exclusively his, of course), like federalism, which ironically, liberals really don't like. It prevents things like universal healthcare and centralized authoritarianism and gives states' rights. But, if you really want to talk about totalitarianism, that's pretty funny considering the context of the conversation. Especially considering how liberal our public school system is AND our media's liberal domination... well except for fox news...

Commies don't really belive in nations, as indeed is reflected by slogans such as "Workers of the world unite"
Well yea, but that depends if you're talking to Lenin or our unions... err I mean Marx ;)

CNN said:
09/02/2010 10:45 CST:

Rescue efforts underway after oil rig explosion in Gulf

An oil rig has exploded 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana, with 12 people overboard and one missing, the Coast Guard said Thursday morning.

Rescue attempts are underway for at least 12 people, Coast Guard spokesman John Edwards told CNN. 13 people were on board the rig total, Edwards said, noting 12 have been accounted for, but one person was missing.

The accident took place 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana on the Vermilion Oil rig 380, which is owned by Houston-based Mariner Energy.

The Coast Guard has multiple helicopters, an airplane and several Coast Guard cutters en route. It's unknown if there are any injuries.
