Only reason her family was "attacked" is because it was expedient.
Fixed that for you.
Hypocrisy is about the weakest possible charge you can come up with. Pretty much everyone is a hypocrite in some way (or, at the very least, can be
presented as a hypocrite by someone who doesn't share their views). Obvious example: Incessant moralizing about how low-class Palin and her family are by people who would lionize them if their political views were different.
And I don't even disagree -- She's kind of on the low-class end of the spectrum. If I were the type of person who bought into ad hominem regularly I might be swayed by that as an argument. At the same time, I certainly would prefer her and her family and her morals to the kind of utterly bankrupt nepotism we see widespread elsewhere in this country and especially its political system (ex. Williamsburg, the Kennedys, the Bushes).
The sex education debate is pretty much pointless -- The people constantly grinding this axe as if it's meaningful are no doubt all standing to benefit from either "normal" sex education programs or "abstinence" sex education programs. Both general groups are monetary interests slavering for the filthy lucre they'd receive from government mandates for teaching their courses in school.
Meanwhile, all the data I've ever seen on the subject indicated that these programs have virtually no effect on actual sexual behaviors -- Regardless of what was purportedly taught. Shocking as it may seem, I'm sure human beings managed to do fine for the past couple thousand years without having government employees telling them what to do with their genitals. I'm perfectly happy leaving that to parents.
As for what her daughter's sexual behavior has to do with Sarah Palin being a hypocrite -- I'm still trying to figure that one out. I've no doubt she is a hypocrite, but I've yet to get my head around this vagina-by-proxy concept.
