Indiana. Kill me please.
I remember almost crying at the stupidity of the commercial. "We have exterminated them for years, now they are fighting back." That is the joke of a line used to advertise "The Rats" on Fox, a television movie about a bunch of ****ing rats attacking people. Oh my God, that's going to give me nightmares. I hope they don't get to our cheese reserves. What's even more ****ed up is all the pathetic TV movies are like that. The last one I watched was about a bunch of ants eating people.

Man 1: Oh my God, a colony of ants is slowly moving this way!
Man 2: We have to get out of here!
Man 1: There's no way out, we are sounded by land!
Man 2: It looks like we have to fight. Let's step on them!
Man 1: There's no time! Quick, hit the ground, make sure your eyes are at ground level with the ants!

What a bunch of crap that was. Was the moron who made that movie inspired by SimAnt? Or was it he just couldn't see how bad the movie was while his head was up his ass? And what is with all the ****ing cop shows on television? Its like they want to make it look heroic that the pigs are violating peoples' rights. In 1 episode of cops I counted 8 obvious violations of civil liberties. And then they portray those fascist bitches like they are good? They even do it in the fictional shows!

If anyone here has ever seen Walker: Texas Ranger, you should know what I mean. I remember an episode when Walker and his partner walked into a bar to ask a guy some questions (without a lawyer btw, who would tell the man he has no legal obligation to talk to the pigs). Apparently this guy was an ex con. He got of jail, decided to fly straight, and worked hard to create this bar to make a meager living for himself. And how was his work rewarded? These pigs just waltz in acting like they are the kings of the world, and start asking questions. The bartender asked him to leave, and they refused, because hey, they are cops and have guns and they can shoot whoever they want. A customer got up and tried to coax them to get out, and as soon as he layed a hand on the cops shoulder (in a non aggressive way) Walker punches the guy out, then he throws the bartender over the counter and starts beating him up! Then when he still wouldn't talk they start destroying his bar! And THEY ARE PORTRAYED AS GOOD!
Other episodes arn't much better. In another they beat up some accused guy for no good reason, and then a lawyer for Citizens Against Police Tyranny or something like that took his case to sue the Rangers for police brutality. I'm thinking "Great, for once this show depicts social justice." But my hopes for the show not being a crock of **** were shattered when it turns out the lawyer is justing using the case to steal money. Of course, no one in their right mind would oppose police brutality unless they were a bad person like him, right? And then the cops, when they win the case, are like "I wish the people would just trust us." Maybe they'll trust you when you stop punching them in their ****ing faces and destroying their bars, bastards.

And now we even have the ****ing feds involved spreading propaganda lies. The federal government actually PAYS networks to add anti-drug lies to their shows. And now they are actually doing it for news! Channel One, a news station that is directed towards use in the classrooms (but gee, I'm crazy to think schools spread propoganda, wacky communists...) has been getting money to put anti drug messages in their ****ing bull**** they pass off as "news". Its nice to know that I get to have my employer take most of what I earn, then have the government steal 55% of what's left of my pay to brainwash children into supporting its murderous war on rights (drugs). Good things marijuana is illegal, or else I might be able to get a cheap painkiller and my money wouldn't go straight to exploitative corporations. And in the number 4 most censored story of the year, it turns out during the bombing of Kosovo some "interns" at CNN were actually army propaganda specialists. Gee that ****ing surprises me...

And then there is the other crap that passes for news these days, inspirational stories. What kind of ****ing moron watches these shows about how Person X was able to survive 3 long days locked in a grocery store without starving? The horrible irony of it is, only morons watch those shows, and yet every minute you watch those shows your IQ is cut in half, until its below 10, at which point it drops the number of times Fox news has said its fair and balanced while having a debate between 5 conservatives and 1 liberal.

Remembering all this enraging acts of stupidity by people has made me so ****ing mad I can't think of a way to close this, so I'm just going to stop this post by saying television these days is a load of bull****.

I could rant for days about how bad tv is, how much they try to hook us to our tv set instead of doing something good for our brain/body, how stupid most tv show/films are (or are aimed at low IQ peoples)...

But i will abstain, i don't think i could change anything a might start a long useless thread that would lead nowhere (like many times before).

But i truly wish i could do something about it...

Rogue, I am dumbfounded by the fact that you actually WATCH Walker! That would be one program I would think you wouldn't watch. Better watch it, I hear they put capitalistic subliminal messages in all of these shows..AND commercials, ESPECIALLY commercials!:D

crap

That is so much bull****. Granted that most of what's on tv sucks, and a lot of movies, but if you compare them to what it was like 20 or even 10 years ago, it's so much better.

For one thing, RogueLeader, you should never take anything Chuck Norris does seriously. You shouldn't take Fox seriously either, especially their "news". "The Simpsons" is the best show on the channel, and they make fun of Fox constantly.

Ok, there are some ****ty movies out there, but there are a lot of good ones, too (even Hollywood): Fight Club, Snatch, Gladiator, Braveheart are all awesome movies. There are many more recent movies that are good, but I'm not gonna mention them all. Most older movies are boring as ****, even the good ones. They're also less innovative and creative than a lot of more recent movies. Ah, Saving Private Ryan, almost forgot. The Thin Red Line.

Also take into account that it's a lot easier and cheaper to make a movie than it used to be. Computers make editing very cheap, cutting down on a lot of expenses. There are many times more movies put out per year than their used to be. This inevitably means that the number of sucky movies will increase.

TV movies are never good because their budgets are ****. Take one of those NBC tv movies: all it is is a cheap script, written by cheap writers, with a cheap director, and crappy actors. Then they throw some nice CGI into the mix and they've got themselves a movie. They didn't used to have tv only movies at all.

A lot of networks, like the WB and Lifetime are complete ****, but there's plenty of good stuff on. HBO has high budget and well written series that have won a ****load of awards. There are plenty of good comedies, too. And a couple of them don't involve Matt Groening or James L. Brooks.
Commercials have gotten so much better than they used to be. A lot of them are actually funny.

I'll bet you there is a lot less propaganda than there used to be, on tv or anywhere (there was that thing called the Cold War, you know).

Don't tell me about the "good ol' days". Things are so much better than they used to be. The only thing that has really gone to **** is the music industry. Well, and politics. Everyone's a republican anymore, they just don't know it.

That doesn't make him god, that makes him a greek hero (a candy-ass ***** that has the help of the gods). The MIA movies were better than Walker, but they were still crap. I don't mind testosterone flicks, but if I wanted that I'd watch Hard-Boiled or Supercop. As far as American action goes, Bruce Willis kicks Chuck Norris's ass any day. Watch "Last Man Standing". Or Die Hard, for that matter.

Chuck Norris's best role was when he got his ass handed to him by Bruce Lee.
