What did/do you want to be when you grow up?

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up? Or if you are still in school, what do you want to be?

I am kind of asking this question for myself. I don't know what I want to be. I have thought about military service countless numbers of times, and I probably will join some branch (either Air Force or Marines, or possibly Army). But what after that? I really enjoy writing, and love reading, and also love talking, and activity. Than again that is a whole lot of shi<b></b>t to pack into one job :)

So what did you people want to be when you grew up? And what are you now? Were your goals accomplished?

I always wanted to be a laywer cause you get to argue while making money. But I really liked the whole school vacation schedule. And I also wanted to figure out if there is a God or not. So I decided to be a religious scholar: You get to argue a hell of a lot about whether or not there is a God, you get paid a TON teaching in Universities, and you still get summers off.

So I am getting my PhD in Late Patristic and Early Medieval Religious History and Papal Politics, and I am gonna be a University professor. It gives me everything I wanted out of life PLUS enough time to watch the simpsons and buy more shoes.

Life is good.

I always wanted to have a job I adore doing, like:
Photography
Advertising Industries
Game Designer

Now, I'm stuck learning programming. :( maybe option 3 can still apply. :D But again, you never know what's in store for the future.

Originally, I wanted to be a pilot. Then I realized that I would have to go through huge amounts of schooling in the subjects I hate most to become a pilot. Scratch that. Then when I was in 2nd grade, the Gulf War started, and they showed non-stop 24 news coverage. And I thought to myself, "Damn, that guy carries around a assault rifle, runs in the mud, AND gets paid for it. I want a gig that cool."

So then I wanted to be a soldier. Of course, the US Army has turned to crap, so I'm going into the Marines instead. Now, I want to make big money, but still be a Marine, so I will probably join the Marines for 4 years after high school, then come out and finish up a degree in a big money field like computer science, or something like that.

I did the class to be a microelectronic engineer, but I don't like it. I may be a computer/network specialist in the army.

I have been thinking about thousands of jobs I COULD be. But I don't seem to be interested in them.

Personally, I wouldn't mind being on the web all day helping people. I would love it. But I wouldn't get much outside exposure, and would shrivel up like a pimpled geek :) I was thinking about being tech support, but I don't think I could take the pressure of mounting numbers of dumbas<b></b>ses calling in for excessively stupid reasons. And I am pretty sure stupid calls outnumber smart ones :rolleyes:

I thought about the military, and still am. Originally, I wanted to join so I could fire a gun and kill people. Seriously, maybe I am sick or something. I wanted to pick people off with rifles. Now I want to join for firing a weapon and the experience. And to pay for college, because I don't have many options regarding that.

After college I hope to either be a lawyer, reporter or something involved with writing or talking. I love both. Hell, maybe I'll stay military forever :)

when i was a little kid i wanted to be a archaeologist and dig up dinosaurs. then i wanted to be a pilot, and even joined air cadets. that convinced that the military wasn't for me (although i would join if i was american and could join theirs, not the crap canadian forces:(), so then i learned guitar so i could be a rock star. that required me to move to a city, and the easiest way to do that was to take archaeology at university, so now i am going to be a archaeologist again. full circle:D.

Now I will admit this. The first thing I ever wanted to be was a plane. It's true. I wanted to grow up and be an plane. A nice big 747. Not the pilot but the actual plane. I mean I was 3 years old at the time so it seemed possible. Actually now that I think about it that is the only thing I have ever wanted to be. Oh well. I just lucked out and now I am project manager for LANs/WANs and I dont have a huge University/College bill cuz I didnt go.

I still wanna be a plane tho. :)


EDIT: Being a 2 bit hugh grant humping whore aint what it's cracked up to be. You might get the good looker every now and then but the majority are skanks. Overweight, balding (except for their chin), mouths that smell like a 4 week old dead cat & downstairs it smells even worse. Actually if you have met Funkstylz's mother, exactly like that. :)

I struggled between:

A) Pimping Man-gina on the corners of Arabian suburbs.
B) Testing substances with unknown effects for medical benefit.

lets see, I want a tatoo of the punisher skull on my chest(see pic below), and some other tatoos, maybe one like chakotay'from star terk voyager, and maybe some others(dunna know where) apiercing through my eyebrow(and maybe more).
second, I want to play atleast 6 hours of infiltration every day, I want to try most forms of drugs(TRY!!not do) ehm, don't have any oither real wishes I gues....

Ever since I first started making websites, I knew I wanted to be a webdesigner. Right now I'm taking three years at college then 2 years at another educational institution, so I can become a multimediadesigner, which is in the same field as web-designing.
When I'm finished with my education, I'm gonna take courses in programming, so I can make games...
