Hmm...first its a suppressor not a silencer. Way to many people ask for a suppressor for the M9 but the answer is usually no. The SOCOM will have a suppressor , just wait for that. On the AK-47 and Uzi , you have the AKSMU and Mini Uzi on the way what more do you want?

1: No, a suppressor and a silencer are not the same thing.

A SUPPRESSOR muffles the report of a firearm by trapping, and thus slowing and cooling, expanding gasses as they exit the muzzle. It does not affect the velocity of the bullet to any significant degree, so if it's travelling supersonic when it leaves the bore, it'll still be supersonic when it clears the can. The SOCOM would mount a suppressor, for example.

A SILENCER bleeds gas off from behind the bullet while it is still in the bore. This is normally accomplished by drilling a helical pattern of holes in the barrel. A suppressor housing is fitted around these holes, and as the bullet travels through the bore the gas bleeds off behind it and the bullet is slowed. This reduces the velocity to subsonic levels and eliminates sonic crack downrange. The MP5SD series is an example of a system using an actual silencer.

2: Terrorists have no place in Infiltration. This is a military modification.

Why not put in a 74? 47's are way too common in the gaming world but have you seen one with the AKSMU? Yup Infiltration. Wanna be a terrorist? Want your POS 47? Play TO. First off, are the suppressor/silencer remarks really neccessary? Seriously, you guys have gone to far with it. When he said silencer you all know what he meant and don't deny it. Showing off your knowledge by discriminating another isn't the way to make a first impression either.

I'm not defending Jaguarfiend though. Calling people a moron isn't the way to get your point across. I agree though, I would much rather see a full size Uzi rather than the K version. Although, this brings up something I've been thinking about for quite sometime. Is the Mini-Uzi categorized as a "sub-machine gun"? I thought it was a "machine pistol". Perhaps a machine pistol category of weapons should be added.

Just to maybe add more selection for weapon fanatics, such as myself.

The attachments available for a gun in real life will not be honored in INF 100%. This is done so that each weapon can be more different ( and thus be more than a cosmetic addition ) from others planed or in the game already. For example the M-16 series of rifles can attach just about everything but a kitchen sink, but in INF the M4 is going to be limited to gernade launcher, scope, and flashlight... While the Sig 551 swat will offer a Laser sighting system, and scope.

Since the R6 retical idea has been scraped, there's no big difference between one assualt rifle and another, except looks ( which isn't important enough to warrent the weapon being added) so other characteristics (what attachments are available to what guns) are used to help seperate one gun from another.

Everyone seems to have a different opinon what characteristics seperate weapon catagories (even the gun manufactures themselves.) For example H&K offically calls their H&K53 ( the small 5.56) a Sub Machine Gun. However many consider the defining difference between a SMG and Assualt Rifle is the caliber of it's ammo, reguardless of it's size -- to some extent.

IF H&K makes a Mp5 that fires tactial nukes and calls it a machine pistol that's fine and dandy, but i'm going to call it an Atomic weapons platform, despite whatever the manufacture calls it.

In my opinion the difference between a machine pistol, and an SMG is how it works since they both fire pistol ammo.

As far as i'm concerned, if it has a slide (ala pistols) and it fires in an automatic or burst mode it's a Machine pistol. (glock 18, M93R, ect)

If its using a rod, bolt, or charging handle ect ect. it's a SMG. (Uzi, TMP, MP5 ect)

FYI. 'Silencers' don't exist. It's a silly catchy term propogated by hollywood.

Any firearm report dampening device is properly termed as a 'suppressor'. The question at hand is what method of operation does the suppressor employ to achieve the desired effect.

But anywho, weapon suggestions are generally disregarded by the team. They proly have a set of criteria and standards and requirements for selecting the weapons that they have already listed.

You can TRY to persuade them, good luck if you decide to.
