I love Sony, practically all the equipment in my room is Sony. I bought a Psx the night it came out all those years ago. I have bought a total of two Psxs. As I said, I love Sony. I, however, do not love or even like the PS2, I feel it was a major dissapointment, but that's only one thing they make, not everything, ONE THING. Should I save this post for the future or do you think you will be unlike Pac and remember from now on?

Balli: What about the PS2 dissapoints you? Just curious. The games? The hardware? The lack of units at launch? What?

I have a PS2 and am dissappointed with whats available SO FAR. I think that the PS2 will come into its own soon when they learn how to capitilise on the resources available. I mean game developers need to time to do that ****e. Look at the first generation of PSX games and then look at the stuff that has been released recently. The difference is astronomical. I just want some good games to come out (read: GT3).

Better get that P4 1.7G and the Geforce 3 then.

Emulators run the games suboptimally, so you need even better hardware than the consoles to run them well.

err... I have a 1Ghz 512MB Ram, GF2 Ultra 64... maybe it'll be enough?

BP, everything in general. I guess having a PC with it's hi-res and other benefits has spoiled me, but even if it hadn't, I wouldn't have been impressed with the PS2. I <i>might</i> buy an Xbox one day since you can hook it up to a monitor or HDTV and get some hi-res sweetness, but I doubt it. I'm just full-on PC whore now I guess.

Ballis - I just feel that PC games have really been losing something lately (not all PC games).

Look at Black and white for instance. Great idea, great graphics but how many bugs can one game have. Now everyone is waiting for the patch (and as far as I know it hasnt come out yet, although I have stopped checking). With the PSX2 you buy one game and it doesnt need patches. Thats one the good points.

I take your point of the Hi Res and the graphics on the PSX2 tho (but it is pretty good for what it is).

I am not seeing any of these bugs in B&W like the rest of th world? Did I do something wrong during the install!? lol

Also, sorry my problems with Black and white stem even further. I think that it is a very average single player game. I havent played it on the Net yet because my ISP is stuffed even tho I have DSL.

Yeah, multi is much more fun... but the single was good for developing my critter a bit

I have yet to play the demo...just need the damn time...and a store to have Zone of Enders in stock, that will let me play for a few days and then return it. I have watched others play it though..at a media play I think...anyway, there is simply no doubt my PC wont be on in the wee hours come this fall..that game is gonna eat me alive.

As to this endless debate about consoles vs PCs, I am just in it for the games...where ever they may appear.

What I love about my PC:

Playing Infiltration, Tribes 2, Black and White, Age of Kings, Diablo, and every other killer game that requires a mouse and a keyboard. (And everything looks great due to some killer, albeit expensive hardware.)

What I hate about my PC:

Sports games play like hell, and there aint no Tekken!! Playing driving / fighting / flying / platform games suck IMO... Did I mention bugs, driver issues, and other such shmoo? Patch patch patch...blah blah blah... Plus, there is something goofy about staring at a PC screen playing games...This could just be me of course.

What I love about my consoles:

Playing Tekken Tag Tournament with 3 other guys without getting our fat butts off the couch, in surround sound, on a big-ass TV. Playing Tony Hawk 2 in tag mode, STILL not getting off my fat, comfortable butt. Being able to have 4 idiots pick up controllers and play, and have fun. Being able to have 4 skilled veterans pick up controllers and play like pros. No patches, no bugs, no limiting a game due to multiple configurations, since...there are no multiple configurations...so on and so on.

What I hate about my consoles:

A FPS can NOT be done properly on this format, at least as it stands today. The control is NOT right no matter what you do...and shut up all you Goldeneye fans...It is the only exception to the rule, but still cant compare to a mouse and keyboard. So my favorite genre is nearly un-playable on a console due to this fact. Massive online gaming is not really in the cards (yet) either.

Hmmm...UT with 8 people....or UT with 32 people, new skins, maps, guns, mods.....you get the point.

So the bottom line? I have, and love, both worlds. One day, there may be a real convergence. Who knows from which corner it will come...but it will. Until then, I will continue to feed my addiction from both ends.

Bluesniper! That thing is 9 kb shy of 200 k! Now I have a 1+ megs a sec cable connection, but this new server is slow as s<b></b>hit! It must be capped or something! I wish you people would stop using it altogether so when I open a damn page it doesn't keep shifting slightly while slowly loading all these damn pics and making me lose my place several times! Do you know how frustrating that is!
