It struck me in chat the other day, when all 4 of us wore glass's, and 2 of us had Braces, that we really do seem to be following the sterio type of the gamer

How many people here ARENT tall thin and wear glasses or braces?

PS. It was Lady_Ruiner and Skumboy who had braces, feel free to mock them both

I'm 5'10, 185 pounds, play lots of hockey, am 37 years old with a wife and kid. No glasses and am in pretty decent shape. Hopefully, I've blown your theory to ****e.

I got long hair, and smoke weed, and most people are shocked to that i'm an games freak, i'm not an typical computer nerd

Nope...always was a cool dude and still am (hey, that's what the women tell me :))

. Don't wear glasses, never had braces or cavities. Played football, Track, Snowboarding, Repelling, Skydiving, Soccer (okay soccer is cool), numerous girlfriends (they always left for some reason), most popular in school (class total...a big 20 :))

...and now...can't walk right, wife bosses me around, children spend my money, mother still dresses me, clothes are all polyester (best fabric in the world), 12 year old kids own me online...no not me....not a geek...yep...*sigh*

Hmmm.. I'm 35 (aaarghhh..), short, slightly overweight (I think that's allowed at 35). In a stable relationship getting perilously close to ending my treasured bachelor status. No braces. I don't wear glasses. OK I wear contacts, and if I didn't wear them I WOULD wear glasses, but...

I'd love to be a geek. Just as long as it's a make a fortune in crap software and have more money than most of the third world type geek !

According to my latest studies I'm about 6'3", too (about 1,93m). I weigh 148.812 pounds (about 67,5kg). I wear glasses and don't like sports very much

im 6'3 180lbs , i do wear glasses but its becuase of staring at TV screens (consoles) and pc monitors all my life. cant stand contacts at all. no braces/retainers etc tho. and my hair is spiked enough to be used as a weapon.

As a matter of fact, I work out on a regular basis. Martial arts(Tae Kwon Do, Shaolin Kempo) is what's been my addiction lately. 5' 10" and 150 may not be Schwartzenegger, but it's great for martial arts.

I hit the free weights whenever I have time.

I'm also skilled with firearms, as is my sister trinity (being raised in a military family is nice).

On the Red corner, at 5' 8" and weighing in at a healthy 185lbs. GunnerX!!

He spends 10-14 hours a day on the computer and 2 hours watching TV. He works out with free weights and is a cyclist. His next tour will be the Ride for Heart, a 70KM trek through Toronto's highway. He listen's to all type of music.

And... He wears glasses!!

I like computer's and it's involved with more than 1/2 my life but, I don't think I'm a geek or a nerd.

BTW, I also enjoy Paintball.

Hmmm, let's see, 5'10", 190lbs, long hair, contacts (for the past 10 years now, though I took a year off and am now looking at laser eye surgery). I *used* to be thin, but then I got a job and a steady g/f and don't have time to go to the gym anymore.

Yeah, I'm a computer nerd (been using computers for the past 15 years, since I was 9), but I've come to terms with it and now I'm using it to my advantage. Got a great job using computers that pays very well. I'm not ashamed of my geekdom

5'10", 220 - Fit! Bald, pierced from head to toe. I look like Mr. Clean so NO I am NOT you're typical gamer. I pretty much scare people when they see me. No cavities, No braces, No glasses, not even an odd limp.

i hate to be serious here, but what the hell is wrong with being a geek? There's nothing wrong with being odd, it's conformity that is evil! WTF is wrong with glasses? I wear 'em, but I'm no geek. True, this game is cutting into my social life, but I still party on the weekends...
And as for looking like a geek, and being out-of-shape, I can bench press more than I weigh, so I think Im OK...
And as for spending too much time with my computer, I am not a nerd, I prefer the term "Techno-Diva"
