Crazy e-mail... Or virus...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Your inbox has messages you didn't send? Hotmail doesn't store sent messages in your inbox as far as I know. Unless you mean that your "sent items" or whatever hotmail calls the folder has messages you didn't send?

In any case, keep your antivirus program up to date and do a full scan of your drives just to make sure. Viruses usually come as attachments and will not activate unless you open them. If you get attachments in your inbox and you don't know where it comes from or what they are, just delete them.

There's also something else to watch out for, as I learned a weeks ago. I got an email with the usual "Click here to earn money" or something to that effect. It also had a small PS saying "be patient. the page loads slowly". I found out rather quickly why it loads slowly. As I clicked on the link, Norton went ballistic over a trojan trying to install itself on my computer. It managed to delete some Windows files before Norton caught it and I had to fish out my Windows CD to reinstall the files before Norton would let me proceed. First time something like this has happened to me. I usually just delete the spam I get.

Anyways, I thought I'd just share, since we were on the topic anyway ;)
