CTF-Avali

Well, it took me months to build this but it's finally done!

It's a CTF map in unreal 1 style. Expect huge waterfalls, beatifull nature, dazzling skies, mines, glimmering caves, a lava pit, etc, etc. This map was mainly made with theme in mind. It's not a hardcore CTF map but i think that it has a nice layout none the less. FPS may be lower than average on weaker systems due to it's size and detail, try turning your settings down.

Thank you. :) It's been a while since I got that warm funny feeling the Unreal 1 atmosphere gives me. Great map, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys are doing with the mod. :tup:

I think this map (and the upcoming mod based on it) deserve a newspost, sparky :)

Wow. I was a blown away with the "grand" look of the map. I can honestly say that it was one of the few CTF maps I've played that give me that Unreal feeling. Sure, the textures are some of the reason, but all of the little nods to Unreal (waterfalls, Nali hut, even the towering elevator shafts) bring it all together.

Probably my only criticisms would be that there are too many places for a flag carrier to hide. Take away some of those (under platforms, etc) and you have a better map. It's also probably too large for most map rotations as you'd need 15-20 people to really enjoy it.

Very nice. A smaller "Unreal" map like this would be awesome.

the problem with that is that most the time the Unreal similar maps have to be grand because that is the nature of Unreal 1.

I'm doing an update to the map right now and i'll remove most of these hiding spots. There will also be some more optimization in the lower level and i'll make some changes to the fluidsurface, look what happenes when you shoot at them now :).
