Can't you see her ad in the newspaper, looking for a "life partner"?

Turn Ons: Muslims converting to Christianity at gunpoint; women and children made legally slaves to the husband; labor organizers being gunned down by the National Guard; burning crosses in front of blacks' homes; burning down an A-rab's family business.

Turn Offs: Dirty liberal professors; evil liberal college students; black commie equal rights activists; free speech; labor organizers not being gunned down by the National Guard; Democrats; commie Republicans that betray their party by becoming so radically left wing that they make Mussolini look like a fascist.

Coming from the "World Socialist Press" lends the article about zero credibility.

I don't know to what people you refer to in this, but most I speak with probably wouldn't mind a more drastic course of action.

Good argument, destructo; they support the vast majority of the world that works, therefore they must be wrong in thinking that murder for the sake of intimidating liberals is fascist in nature.

The people of Saudi Arabia, as it should have been clear.

Edit: What is funny about the above variation on the "its wrong cuz my daddy says the messenger is bad" argument is that even classic supporters of that argument won't often use it against the Fourth International. Even the ultra-right WorldNetDaily.com links to the WSWS as a credible source.

No, it wasn't clear about to whom yo refered, but in the context of Saudi Arabia, you're correct. I'd prefer we not station troops there; they're just targets at this point anyway.

    Can you clarify this:
What worldnetdaily does concerns me not at all.

A socialist is by definition a supporter of the working class, and the working class makes up a vast majority of the world's population. I don't see how supporting the majority of the people on the planet in any way reduces credibility. You seemed to base your statement on the typical media pundit view of, "My network pays me a lot of money and socialists want to give it to people who work so they are evil", rather than any rational reason why the article is somehow wrong.

The reality is socialism is a system in which an ultra strong and centralized government, represents no one but the highest members of the bureaucracy. Resources are squandered, often to the benefit of no one.

I suppose it's pointless to debate the point with someone who is dedicated to the religion, though.

If you want to use invented definitions:

capitalism, n. - A form of government in which the ruling minority class exploits the lower ones and brutally suppresses all democratic tendencies in order to retain its regime.

The fact is in true Marxian socialism, there cannot be a bureacracy, because all people participate in the government (if everyone is a bureacrat, no one is), and historically socialist governments have proven much more efficient. During the brief socialist period of the Soviet Union, before Stalin seized power and destroyed socialism, yearly economic growth was higher than any other nation in history. At the same time the U.S.'s economic was actually shrinking, and Japan, at the time the stongest capitalist government, was growing at a few % a year, the Soviet Union's economy grew 250% (barring the Soviet Union, that kind of growth is considered incredible by capitalist economies).

By repeating the standard brainwashing of the State and media, you did not disprove my claim that you were brainwashed by the State and media.

You probably have fallen for the myths that socialism = British labor, French socialist party, German social democrats, Stalinism, PRC, etc.

In reality the European countries are state capitalist, as is China. Stalinism is a warped form of socialism. If you want to study an actual socialist economy, study the Paris Commune. You probably havn't heard of it if you are State-school educated.

you still forget that capitalism is NOT a political system, capitalism only concerns the economical system which easilly becomes entangled with politics due to it's nature but it is not a political system in it's self.

sorry, but this was a bad example imho :)
their economy grew that fast because they were industrializing their country at this point of time. if there was nearly no industry before it is not hard to get a growth rate of 250%

err IIRC the industrialisation of russia started under Lenin, not Stalin, in fact Stalins Kolgoz(sp) (basically large farms) politics completely crippled russias grain production effectively starving half the industrialised areas.

First point- no country in history, barring the Soviet Union, has EVER come ANYWHERE NEAR that kind of economic growth including periods of industrialization. No country has ever industrialized that quickly, either. I don't mean this as an insult, but you must be crazy to say that a 250% economic growth rate is easy to get.

Second point- The Soviet Union's economy actually grew faster under Stalin, by 500% every year overall, over 700% in some specific industries. The difference was that since Stalin abandoned Trotsky's Marxist-based economic planning, and went on his own (intellectually inferior) planning path, so under Stalin that growth cost 5 times more than it would have under capitalism, whereas under socialism it would grow more slowly (though still blowing away any capitalist regime), but also much more cheaply than under capitalism.
Stalin also tried to base his philosophy, if you can even call it a philosophy, on the peasantry rather than the proletariat. He even denied that the proletariat was a revolutionary class. Socialism can only come from the proletariat becaues it is the only permanently revolutionary class. The peasantry is not. At the time of the Russian Revolution, the proletariat was the minority. Because socialism requires there to be no state and for the state to wither away the proletariat must be the majority, Lenin used the New Economic policy to grow the proletariat, but not fast enough before Stalin took power. When Stalin continued to industrialize Russia, he contradicted his peasant based ideology, because industrialization destroys the peasantry and grows the proletariat. Therefore Stalin had to repress the proletariat the same way capitalist nations do, hence the USSR's repressive nature under and after Stalin. Because the USSR maintained the pro peasant stance, even though it had no peasantry, it eventually lost its economic growth power because a proletariat is needed to develop a high-tech capitalist economy following industrialization.

ok, but you are comparing the conditions of the russian industrialisation whith countrys which were industrialized long before this. but these conditions weren't the same. the soviet union was rich of resources, but lacked the technology to use these. along with the revolution there were a lot of dispossessions, so the state got the money it needed for this technology, so they had not to industrialize step-by-step, but were able to create a useable industry extremly fast. the next point is that, because of the war, the people lacked supply. now the kulaks lost their land which was used by the other farmers. before this the kulaks hoard their harvests for themself and their family, now the hole village get this food. off course this motivates.

and no, i don't think a growth 250% is easy to achive, but before the industrialisation the majority of the russians lived under nearly medieval conditions, and within a short time this country gets industrialized using modern technologies. in this case 250% are expectable imho.

lets say you plant an apple tree...
the first year you harvest only a few apples, because you have no ladder. so you can only reach the lower apples.
the year after this you buy a ladder. suddenly you can reach all of the apples, you economical growth rate rises extremly...
    you see what i mean?
