XMP popularity?

Hey, I was wondering what you guys thought about what UTXMP will do to U2XMP. Will it make U2XMP more or less popular? Will all the U2XMP players go to UTXMP? I don't even have UT2k4, I'm gonna be on U2XMP for a long time Also, do you guys have any ideas on how to make U2XMP more popular? It uses the regular UnrealED, which it seems like everyone but me knows how to use, so you'd think there'd be more cool mods for it. I'm thinking about making a website for XMP mods, and to make the U2XMP community bigger. It aint goin down without a fight! Actually, I don't think it will go "down" at all, there will always be a couple people on U2XMP. I don't think it will ever end up like "Sacrifice," a Warcraft/FPS RPG type game, which has ten ppl on if you're lucky.

Nah...UTXMP is just the nudge that will put U2XMP over the cliffside and to it's already inevitable death...see ya there.

Pessimistic you say? I wouldn't say that's the best word to describe my opinion.

Seeing that the fate of U2XMP has no relevance to me any longer dosn't mean I'm being negative. I'm just pointing out that it's absolutely inevitable that it's short life will soon be snuffed out by UTXMP.

We couldn't thank FMI enough for breathing real life into an ill fated, technically inefficient and otherwise great game.

Or, if want to hear something [sarcasm]positive[/sarcasm] I could say U2XMP is soon to be dead but is being reborn with much needed improvement.

*punches Dragon_X, and takes half eatten cookie* HA! little girlly man. u2xmp wont last too much longer cuz of the crappy net code, and bad FPS, and no Master Server, no support, hardly any maps for it coming out, or in the works that i know. i know that i will play some XMP every now and then after UTXMP. like i said before, some day we will just go "hey, lets do a match on XMP"

even bad netcode and bad fps .. it would still be nice to go back to the classic u2xmp every now and then to have a game for good told times even private lan connections! u2xmp will alyways be my fav .. something like my puppy love

Well we are all hoping that the difference between utxmp and u2xmp will be so minimal, that going back to u2xmp would be pointless as it willbe the same game only crapier.

wow, i didn't know this forum would involve baking cookies Anyhoo, i've just seen a bunch of negative people, including diehard u2xmp clannies, screwing xmp and just going to utxmp. I dunno, if all of us in .[CBG] throw a little in the pot we MAY be able to get utxmp! lol jk, i've actually been thinking about geting ut2k4, but i still think u2xmp will be able to live a little, especially if map makers broaden their horizons. Right now i'm very slowly making a map (i suck at ued) that doesn't have deploys and everyone has the weapon damage arti so it's more like UT. creative maps like that may make u2xmp more popular. o well, maybe i'm just blithering and should go back on pac-man on my non-existant Ti-73.
