Truly, i am. I mean, a few months ago this forum was just a single, little forum. Nothing of such quality, or even quantity of posts were on it. When the Inf team closed to old forums, and opened up the new forums some people didnt like it. They said things like,"I dont like having to go to the different forums", and so on. But now, its almost like there are totally different peoples on the general and OT forum. The mapping forum seems this way as well. Since Bad.Mojo left he sort of broke up the way to forums worked, and so they have almost become extraordinarily stupid.
Anyway, i remember some "old" posts, a few months ago that were so much more poinant than any other post that has been made since. Bad.Mojo was sane back then though, i guess you could say. He was a bit pissed off about some things, which is why he left. In my mind he made the right decision.
When i think about it, Bad.Mojo almost was the forum. He had character that most of us don't. Though many people did not actually chat with mojo, they didnt really see what he was like. Though im just sort of blathering about a combination of letters attached to a partly unknown name, i feel somewhat sad that he is gone. It's like infiltration has lost its appeal, though the soon to be released 2.8 is great, it just doesnt seem the same.
Speaking of Infiltration, its sort of odd as to how it is known. Very few people talk about actually playing it on the forums. Ive seen a few people talking about starting up servers, but still no one really talks about it. I find that interesting that everyone assumes infiltration will be the greatest, the best. Though i didnt have the priviledge to play 2.6 in unreal, i did get to play the original ut inf betas. Oddly, not much has changed. 2.6(2.7?) had all the same weapons, options, though not multiplayer, as 2.75. The only real difference was the five weapon limit. With seemingly endless weeks between releases, inf never really became popular on the internet, even when 2.75 came out. Never more than 100 or so people played on the busiest day, at least as i can remember. There are some of us who remember playing on SOB servers which always seemed to be full. SGservers suffered from certain lackings. Such as the limited jump, and relatively poor connection. It was hardly ever full, if ever.
I played some of the inf team members, consistently beating them /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. It's weird, i haven't seen Bastard'O posting as much, nor have i seen him in the inf chat. Oh well, he's probably just busy.
Why such a long post? Well, i dont know. Just because. Weird that sentiment, even of the slightest, would enter ones mind about a game. Even about faceless names attributed only with words. Oh well. Whatever
