Would you like to see DM-INF-GDHQ as EAS-INF-GDHQ?

Hello fellow INFers. I got to thinking... Since GDHQ was so well recieved by many and the only real quelm ppl had was slow performance, me and my bro might make it into an EAS map with multiple objectives. Im figuring since its been over a year and a half since it was released most ppl probobly have the hardware to run it smoothly. So what do you think? Feedback on possible objectives, and other constructive criticism will as always be taken into account. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this map is big enough?
An object would be that one team would have to escape with the helicopter, but I think the placing of the HQ-Building would not be good for this.
So I think it'd be better to make more objectives: The attackers have to take a CD (placed in the tunnel --> GDHQ-base) and then have to bring it to the helicopter. To make it more difficult you should have to "open" the tunnel first, pressing a button located in the office of the "leader" of this base (in the HQ). To make this all realistic the map should be a bit bigger, simply expanding it near the parking lots through adding a few cars ...

Spawn-Points: Barracks (defenders), very few defenders in HQ and maybe one or two near CD. Attackers, puh that's the question, as written abough they should have to walk more than they would now.

I don't know much about EAS. I would have to see what it can do first. I myself tried to make the map DOM, but the door bug popped up. I was still hoping to see a DOM version;)

Yes, in fact I'd love to see almost every well-made community map converted to EAS. You really shouldn't worry too much about map size, the gamemode also works on smaller maps if you place the objectives well.

That is exactly why we wanted to redo GDHQ. It shouldnt take mappers more than one days work to convert there DM maps to EAS with multiple objectives. I agree that size doesnt matter. Once you try EAS you will understand. I now live with my brother in NJ and I have seen 2.90 on his computer in action. Its quite amazing and I believe it will breath new life into INF.

There will be 42 new EAS maps released with the game but im sure over some time most ppl will crave new EAS maps as well as craving older maps that are converted. I like many of the ideas listed so far. Adding new areas to a map can be messy though, but we will take that into consideration. Thanks for all the comments thus far. :)

You should make the attackers have to break into the base, disarm security systems, shoot cameras, the specialist can hack into the computers, etc, etc. Then, they have to get to an extraction point with a helicopter waiting outside the base.

Why do not use the helicopter on the roof? But first you would have to disarm missles ... :)
If you are an attacker, then the helicopter is the enemy's. Why would you take an enemy helicopter over the one that inserted your team?

-Also, an attacking helicopter wouldn't just mosey in and land right ontop of the enemy base.

You should expand the map a little with a section outside the base. You can get outside anyway, it would just make the map a lot better to have to infiltrate the base and then get out alive.

Put fun over map so it make the EAS?

Hell yes. I don't even think it needs new areas, although might take a bit spit 'n polish to bring it up to current map-pack standards.

Yeah, I dig that. I'd like to see some seriously convoluted EAS setups in the community maps. A couple of the Sentry maps have a pretty complex set of objectives, but having seen what the community is capable of I expect genuine craziness by this time next year.

Pfft. What's the point of disabling all the defense and haxoring the secret database if not to let your buddies land a chopper on HQ's roof and really cheese off the GD's? Just because you're attacking from outside the base doesn't mean you were "inserted" - maybe this the end of a week long mission. I think it sounds fun.

pRon should be an objective.

But really, attackers should be inserted outside and have multiple entry ways with dynamic terrain so defense doesn't just mine every entrance possible. Maybe some walls can be blown by the claymore? That'd be awesome.

Wow. Didnt expect so many responses so fast. Ok some of the ideas are very excellent. I didnt even dream of some. I like the disabling of some security systems as part of the objectives. very nice! keep the ideas flowing! ;)

I thinking that the obj is to steal the plans for a top secret vehicle and to escape you must infiltrate the motor pool and ride out in it (something like a stryker vehicle.) To get the vehicle going the speciallist has to jump in the back or just the person with the CD and only that person can activate the vehicle to start moving. Hopefully that person will be a team player and gives other teammates time to jump on too and then the armored door closes on the car and they speed out.

How cool would that be? Possibly attach an M2 to it if it doesn't cause too many problems. I heard that attaching actors to movers like that isn't very fun.

Since the map is fairly big, i can't stress enough how dynamic spawn points would help here, i.e. at the beginning, attackers spawn at the entrance and defenders spawn in, say, a mid-building barracks, then when attackers complete a first set of objectives, their spawn point is pushed within the complex and defenders spawn outside, simulating reinforcements. Then attackers have to extract by the roof, since their way out was cut ;) You know, this kind of stuff :) If the spawn points don't move for the whole round, i'm afraid a couple of choke points will see much action while the rest of the map will be ignored.

No, because this map is a bad quality map. (well not as good as the best inf2.86 maps)

i think only the best old 2.86 maps should be converted..

one thing that would make me the happiest man in the world is if you converted the map ctf-bastille. because its in a real subway station i know
